Schools around the UK give amazing support to CAFOD. Here are some of the photos and stories students and teachers have sent us.

Transcript of Primary Celebrating Schools: Summer 2011

Children in class 4 were inspired to write prayers about ‘service’ after seeing a CAFOD reflection. They made banners to display their messages at their ‘service’ themed Mass celebration. They also had a dressing-up day: children came dressed as a member of their class and staff as pupils.

The children’s various activities raised a staggering £1,896.99. Well done to staff and pupils.

St Mary’s, Maidenhead

After signing up to Connect2:Brazil, the children wrote cards to the children living in the communities of Maua and Divineia telling them all about themselves. They even included the words to the Manx national anthem in two of their cards. They raised £362.30 for Brazil.

Good work St Mary’s.

St Mary’s, Isle of Man

The Head Boy and Head Girl presented Anne Neary, CAFOD school volunteer, with a cheque for £715. Pupils raised money for CAFOD's overseas water programmes. Well done Lancaster!

Cathedral School, Lancaster

The children raised £193 for CAFOD by having a pyjama day. The school had joined Connect2: El Salvador, and learnt about the children and young people living in Puentecitos. They will represent El Salvador in the CAFOD cup in July.

Saint Peter & Paul’s, St Helen's

Children held a fast from their favourite treats: sweet, crisps, fizzy drinks, biscuits. They collected the money they would have spent for CAFOD, including other loose change. The school raised £610.03 in total and Year 2 won the coin race for the longest coin line.

Well done everyone!

St Mary’s, Grimsby

Year 6 pupils enjoyed a World Book Day with a difference. Children dressed up as biblical characters and showed off their costumes at a fashion show. They also sold a range of their own home-made goods to raise a total of £400 for CAFOD.

Simply brilliant!

Our Lady’s, York

St Bede’s, Chorley

The children raised a brilliant £587 for CAFOD during Lent. They did this by holding a bring and buy sale and a musical evening in which they showcased their talents. The children and their families also collected money in their own homemade boxes. Thanks, St Bede’s!
