Narrative and structure

This video is an illustrative music video as the video tells the story of the lyrics. Right from the start of the video the location and props (graveyard and flowers) refer back to the meaning of the song, which is about the afterlife and losing someone. Base tracks are used to indicate and separate the choruses from verses, giving the video a clear structure.

Media language

The majority of the video is in slow motion to make the video more impactful and dramatic. Jump cuts and fades are a form of editing used frequently in the video to move between artists and to show them in different locations. The framing is good throughout the video particularly at the start the start when the artist is stood in the graveyard with the grave between his legs and two rows of trees parallel to each other on both sides of him.
