Guidelines and Quality Indicators for enhancing accessibility in HEIs The ISOLearn Handbook, available for consultation on the Project website - www.isolearn.net, describes practical guidelines for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) on how to design and deliver appropriate ICT-based didactic methods and learning tools in order to support the accessibility of visual and hearing impaired students. The Handbook contains also the Quality Label, a Checklist with Quality Indicators to assess the accessibility of the academic programmes and services provided by the HEIs. Promoted by the Aberta Universidade (Lisbon, Portugal), and supported by 4 European countries (Portugal, Italy, Slovenia and Sweden), the Project brings together Higher Education Institutions, Associations of Blind and Deaf people, VET Project Title: ISOLEARN – Innovation and social learning in Higher Education Institutions Project number: 2014-1-PT01-KA203-001087 This project has been funded with support from the European Commission. Guidelines and Quality Indicators for enhancing accessibility in HEIs

The ISOLearn Handbook, available for consultation on the Project website - www.isolearn.net,

describes practical guidelines for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) on how to design and

deliver appropriate ICT-based didactic methods and learning tools in order to support the

accessibility of visual and hearing impaired students.

The Handbook contains also the Quality Label, a Checklist with Quality Indicators to assess the

accessibility of the academic programmes and services provided by the HEIs.

Promoted by the Aberta Universidade (Lisbon, Portugal), and supported by 4 European

countries (Portugal, Italy, Slovenia and Sweden), the Project brings together Higher Education

Institutions, Associations of Blind and Deaf people, VET Providers and a Foundation of Public

Utility. ISOLEARN aims to improve the quality of higher educational offer addressed to

hearing/visual-impaired students in order to enhance their accessibility to HEIs.

The Handbook and Quality Label will foster the development of more adequate HE courses,

the improvement of the accessibility rate of hearing / visually impaired students to University,

and thus, their employability opportunities.

The Project final results will be presented during the relevant European Conference, that will

be held on September 22nd 2016, in Lisbon (Portugal).
