Christmas Carolling in Marple Precinct
Band jobs & concerts over December were well received particularly at St. Thomas’ Church, High Lane where we were delighted to officially announce that Mr Geoff Gaskell was our new President.
North Cheshire Cruising Club is also one of our favourite events as it is an informal evening where annual band awards are presented along with some “Tongue in Cheek” awards, which are given out too.
We were pleased to present Peter
Gill (euphonium player and one of the stalwarts of the band), the new President’s Award (in honour of our late President, Jack Turnbull) in recognition of Peter’s constant service to Hawk Green.
Other awards …
Most Improved Player - Sam Rongong (Cornet )
Bands person of 2015 - Gill Spragg (Tenor Horn)
Consistent Performer of The Year - Peter Williams (Trombone)
