Hello Everyone...I hope you have had a good May.
For our Canadian neighbors...our thoughts and
prayers are with all those affected by the wild fires
burning in the Ft. McMurray area.
News around the park: the remodel on the pool
bathrooms is now complete, and it turned our great!
The grading work done around units #208 to #212
has been completed, and it is our hope that this
resolves the irrigation issues those residents
experienced in the past.
One of the first things I did as your new manager
was to get rid of the towing company that was
patrolling our community looking for vehicles to tow
away. I did this because I felt that was not the
image I want the management to portray to the
residents. Unfortunately, since then I have noticed
a rise in vehicles parked overnight on the streets
and on the sidewalks. I got rid of the towing
company, but the parking rules have not changed.
Please do not park on the sidewalks, and limit
overnight parking on the street.
Lastly, the management company has requested that
all residents enroll in the PayLease program. This is
a good way to pay you rent and not have to
remember or worry about it. I have enrolled more
than two dozen residents in the past weeks, and
they all say it is great. It has also been decided
that Fountain East will not longer accept post-dated
checks. The day you turn it in is the day it will be
deposited.
Thank you and have a wonderful summer.
Bill Walker, Fountain East Manager
In early May, Don Stebbins called a meeting of the
security patrol with Karen of the Mesa police
regarding what to do if the night patrol people see
suspicious activity. Karen reminded us to call 911
anytime we see anything that doesn’t seem normal in
a 55+ community. Last summer over 80 parks were
hit, some worse than others. Interestingly the
hardest hit was Viewpoint, a 24-hour guarded and
gated community. Karen commented that
communities with no gates had the fewest break-ins.
It was stated that every home needs a caretaker
watching it when the resident is gone. Everyone
needs an inventory or video of what is in the home.
The caretaker should have access to a list or video.
Police immediately start checking the receipts at
pawn shops and the websites for selling stolen
goods.
Mesa police want the patrol to be their eyes and
ears. Use a cell phone to snap a picture of a
suspicious person or license plate. Do not confront
the individual(s). Get the best description possible,
including what direction they went.

Karen reminded us that every resident is part of the
security in the park. The motto is “see it, say it,
solve it” meaning that if you see something
suspicious like 3 young people walking around the
clubhouse, a person on a bicycle at 2am, call the
Mesa police and let them solve it.
Karen is about to retire, but we are hopeful that we
can have a crime rep back on a regular basis to
remind us of what we need to do to keep our
community safe and secure.
The following resident have either moved into the
park or have moved from one space to another.
There may be some duplications from earlier lists.
We welcome all to our community.

No job is too small!
It was a delightful picnic-like atmosphere as 77 "Fountain Easters" enjoyed the
annual Memorial Day luncheon on May 30th. There was a delicious spread which
included fried chicken, corn on the cob, rolls, salad, watermelon, and ice cream. Betty
Copas led the Pledge of Allegiance and Lanny Barringer said grace. Many thanks to all
the cooks and servers: Joanne Rebilas, Alice Spearman, Bertha Cabana, Aleta
Nybakke, Kay Hedges, Kathy Shaw, Rick Shaw and Jean Ringwald!
