--p. virtualization labs and overall work with CSSIA The college's taskinvolves several parts. One is to revise and develop a new and current

cybersecudy degree and certificate program with a focus on "stack-able" certificates. Every time students get a related certificate, itshows that they have earned additional skills to make them more

then adopt this program.

» Another major function Moraine Valley will tackle is to help buildvirtual data centers at each of the other six colleges in the group. With

New consortium driving downhealth insurance costs forcommunity collegesMoraine Valley is working to make a dent in the $9 million it spends

annually on employees' health insurance. Through the Illinois

Community College Health Insurance Program OCCHIP), the college

will save an estimated $120,000 Inthe firstyearalone, with more sav-ings anticipated as additional community colleges join the consorlium.

The savings are a result of purchasing health care insurance enmasse. The more health insurance purchased, the cheaper it is.Partnering with other Illinois community colleges Increases the

employee pool and gives the group more buying power. LI" L4:

With lhe help of consulting firm Gallagher Benefits, Moraine Valley hasentered into a 1hree-year commitment with College of DuPage in Glen

Ellyn and Oakton Community College in Des Plaines to create the

ICCHIR They hope another eight or nine community colleges will jointhe consortium by January with the expectation that it will double or

biple in size within 12 months. Collectively, the ICCHIP is serving over3,300 employees. The addition of more members will help defray the

costs of the consortium and possibly further drive down the cost ofhealth insurance.Although this is acollaborative efforteachof the col-leges have maintained their benefits structure.
