Preserving Hauran:A Heritage to Cherish

Despite ravages from empires, wars, and time….

Fleeing Hauran… A young man who was to be ordained to the priesthood, flees to Germany as a refugee, accompanied by his wife. 

Fleeing Hauran… The Archdiocesan city, Sweda, flooded with refugees—many from parishes in outlying towns and villages.

Fleeing Hauran… Daraa: Half of this parish has fled to Damascus. 45 families have lost their homes.

Fleeing Hauran… Maarbeh: the entire parish has fled and lives as refugees. Three parishes are completely deserted.

Fleeing Hauran… Kharaba: 36 families remain. Al Oslha: half of the parish has fled to Sweda. Jbeb: 18 elderly people stayed to save their homes.

Serving Hauran…Metropolitan SABA’s charitable association established in 2012: to serve all Syrian people.Now: serves the needy parishioners of his own Archdiocese, and others who are in serious need.
