22018 MoB Learn Program1 Museum of Brisbane

WELCOMEAt Museum of Brisbane we aim to foster the next generation of curious and creative thinkers.

Museums inspire lifelong learning, and it is with great pleasure that we present our MoB Learn program for 2018. As you’ll soon see, our 2018 program focuses on providing students and teachers with an immersive, dynamic learning experience in the memorable surrounds of our home in historic Brisbane City Hall.

My highlights include learn programming around our Australian exclusive exhibition Mao’s Last Dancer, an intimate portrait into the inspiring story of Li Cunxin, Life in Irons: Brisbane’s convict stories, a confronting look at the harsh realities of life in the Moreton Bay penal colony, and our award-winning exhibition 100% Brisbane.

I am also excited about the expansion of our Indigenous Culture Learning Program. Launched last year in collaboration with Aboriginal leader Shannon Ruska, the 2017 sessions quickly booked out in an education market eager for truly immersive, local experiences delivered by experts. We’re revamping our popular Brisbane history programs to reflect this trend and launching our first incursion experience with Brisbane in a Suitcase.

2018 is set to be an exciting year for Museum of Brisbane and we look forward to sharing more of the stories of Brisbane, its past, people and places, with you and your students.

He was informative, engaging and approachable. The students were certainly impressed. This authentic

adapted to modernisation. It was a memorable experience and the place was exceptional

and extraordinary.”Christopher, visitor.
