Roman aquaeduct during the archaeological excavation – more than 1,5 km of the aquaeduct was explored

By examining the calcination layer, one can determine chemical and bacteriological water content, its flow-speed and the time of calcification.

By calculating the quantity of water in the aquaeduct, one can also calculate the number of inhabitants in Viminacium. It seems that it used to have at least 15.000 inhabitants, but most likely up to 30.000.
