What are For-profit Colleges?James Curry
For-profit colleges are institutes owned by private companies.
Operate mainly as a business by taking advantage of federal aid and student fees.
Most for-profit schools have no admission standards.
Ease of attendance, on-line programs, and flexibility are the main reasons people attend.
How Do For-Profit Colleges Advertise? James Curry
For-Profits have recently been calling themselves “Military Friendly”
Schools, such as ITT, use paid actors to show “success” stories
They do have it written but not spoken on commercials that credits will not transfer.
Full page newspaper advertisements attacking the government in order to protect their federal aid.
Mobile Advertising
Has a new iphone application that’s allows consumers to buy and shop around online through Armani’s website.
The mobile site includes watching video content, using a store locator, viewing a product gallery with photos .
The website also allows the consumer to text messaging targeted to Entertainment, Lifestyle, and Music apps.
Celebrity Advertising
Armani Exchange ad campaign featuring David Beckham who model for underwear ad
Armani always promote their with gorgeous model both male and female.
Some photos that are more provocative than the photos that appear in the ads.
Results
Sales have increased 150% since the deal with David Beckham was inked back in 2007. all thanks to the presence of the international soccer star.

What is Advertising Ethics?
Advertising ethics is the call for corporations to uphold moral code when advertising their products to consumers
The American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business has stressed the importance of advertising ethics since the 1980’s
Consumers count on corporations to represent their products truthfully, unethcial advertising is intolerable
What is Unethical Advertising?
Advertisements that contain misleading, misrepresented, and/or misinformed information about a product
Advertisements that degrade a group of people or defaces a culture in light of making the product more appealing
Advertisements that target a specific demographic, a.k.a children, tend to be unethical – children lack the life experience to be able to pass sound judgment on a product
TV Networks & Advertising Ethics
TV Networks care more about the money paid for the advertising slot than the actual material in the ad
Examples: Ads run on NBC during the Superbowl costs millions of dollars, yet contain the most outrageous ads (Groupon Ad, Volvo Ad)
Is Advertising to Children Unethical?
Ad agencies spend approximately $15-17 billion on advertising to children a year
Children ages 8-12 influence parential spending of about $30 billion a year
