Its origin goes back to the pioneering work of Herbert Baumer who in 1952 founded Baumer electric, specializing in precision mechanics, initially producing microswitches. In 1964 Helmut Vietze took over the management. A visionary entrepreneur ventured into the sensor market in the early 70s and transformed a small business into an international enterprise. A company policy of sustainability and reliability was the foundation for more than 50 years of success and continuous growth.

In 2007 the management was transferred to the next gen- eration, beginning the reorientation of our group. To the outside world our innovative strategy is evident in its uniform presentation by all members of the group and in the expan-sion of the international sales organization.

The gluing systems sector is specialized in fully integrated automated package solutions for gluing and their quality assurance. Baumer systems are applied in a variety of sectors such as printing, packaging or wood machining. To satisfy increasing production speeds and the demand for ever improved quality, Baumer develops solid state gluing systems for millimeter-exact adhesion at all speeds and with minimized set up and cleaning times. Since the gluing is mostly at the end of the process, Baumer systems also monitor other criteria as well. Modules like code identification and glue monitoring, documenting and the rejection of defective products guarantee faultless end production.
