Project Purpose and Rationale
CONNECT MAIN STREET is a planning & design project that will explore opportunities to transform a two-mile stretch of
Main Street into a multi-modal corridor that is better connected & more accessible
• Build on the success of the Phase 1 Main St. Promenade Project
• Improve Mobility and Transportation Choices
• Replace Excess Pavement with Pocket Parks & Trails
• Promote Physical Activity
• Repurpose Unimproved Right-of-Way
• Create a Sense of Place
• Invest in Assets
• Improve Drainage
• Link Amenities
![Page 6: Presentation&workshop resultscb july 12 final](https://reader030.fdocuments.net/reader030/viewer/2022032616/55a8a3521a28ab40718b480f/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
Grant Source and Requirements
• The project is funded by the San Diego
Association of Governments (SANDAG)
through a Smart Growth Incentive Program
(SGIP) grant awarded to the City of Lemon
Grove

Breakout for WorkshopLet’s get to work
• Take 30 minutes for…
• Another 15 minutes for…
Then, let’s here what you have to say
![Page 43: Presentation&workshop resultscb july 12 final](https://reader030.fdocuments.net/reader030/viewer/2022032616/55a8a3521a28ab40718b480f/html5/thumbnails/43.jpg)
Next Steps
• Your ideas and input on what you want in the
plans will be summarized
• The planning & engineering team will look at
how these ideas can be implemented
• Three alternative approaches will be
developed
• The next public workshop will present these
alternatives and ask for concerns or support
• The consultants, staff and working group will
select on alternative (or hybrid) to move
forward
