The variety of people that I have asked to fill in my questionnaire are mostly between the age range of 16-21 and mostly they are teenagers aged from 16-18. I have done this because a market for indie rock magazines for this age range is not very common therefore I have chosen to try and make my target audience within that age range.

How often do you buy music magazines?

The people that I have given the questionnaire to never buy magazines, and then the second highest is that 4 people buy music magazines. I would try and make those people who do not buy magazine to buy my magazine because it is something new and interesting that would suit their taste.

I have also asked them what their favourite colour are to distinguish certain colours that would attract my target audience’s attention. From this census the most common colour that they have said are green, red and blue. I will consider these colours while choosing my colour scheme for my work.

Main image seems to be very important in my reader’s opinion as it is the first thing that will attract them to buy magazines, therefore I will use a good quality main image with good lighting and attitude that depicts the artist’s personality.

They also download songs from the internet more often than buying them from the shop therefore I could give them free music downloads as a freebie; they might also buy music magazines from the internet via subscriptions and handheld devices eg. Tablet, kindle or mobile.

Concluding this audience research I have covered most of my audience age range from 16-21 yrs old and I haven’t covered the 22-25 audience. This is because I have chosen to decrease my age range as it shows that people from the age range of 16-21 are more unlikely to buy magazine however this also shows an open market from them. The results are quite biased as it shows that many people that have stated their age range are in the range of 16-18 yrs old.
