Changdeok Palace

Changdeok Palace is one of the five large palaces built by the kings of the Joseon Dynasty (1392–1897) as the residence of the royal family, Located in Jongno-gu, Seoul, South Korea.

One part of this palace is the most famous Secret Garden located at the back of the palace. This garden, contrary to its name, is not actually a secret nor hidden. But it is still called a secret because the people allowed to enter it is only the emperor and his wife or the royal family.

In order to be able to sign in to the Secret Garden, you have to pay a ticket for the tour first, and the fees are around 3000 won. Tourists can choose in what language the tour is going to be presented.

The Royal Palace Gyeongbok

Established in 1395, the Gyeongbok Palace is a symbol of royal majesty and the people of Korea. It is the largest palace in South Korea, and is the main palace of the Joseon Dynasty. When entering from the main gate called Gwanghamun, you will see the vast expanse of the stone courtyard.

The Royal Palace Gyeongbokgung is located at the north tip of Sejongro Boulevard, or to be more precise, at 22 Sajik-no, Jongno-gu, Seoul, not so far from the residence of the president of South Korea, or the so-called Blue House.

To get to the Royal Palace Gyeongbokgung, one can use public transportation such as the subway trains. From the station, we only took about 5 minutes to get to the Royal Palace Gyeongbokgung.

The Royal Palace Gyeongbok

To enter the location of the Royal Palace Gyeongbokgung, one needs to buy a ticket first. It costs 3,000 won for adult, and half of it for anyone else aged 7-18 years. In addition, the Royal Palace Gyeongbokgung opened to the public from 19:00 to 18:00 on Tuesday.

Gyeongbokgung Palace territory is divided into several sections such as the shelter, the organization of royal events, the places of worship, libraries and gorgeous pavilion located in the middle of a small lake. The combination of the pavilion in the middle of the lake with a bridge named Chwihyanggyo as a liaison and background mountain peak in the pavilion Amisan make for a very beautiful scenery.

In this Gyeongbok palace, there is also a National Folk Museum of Korea (the National Folk Museum of Korea). In South Korea, tourists often spot this one, too. You can rent a traditional Korean dress, then took pictures to capture the moment of traveling there. An English speaking tour guide at this place is also free of charge.

Myeongdong

Myeongdong is one of the largest shopping districts of Seoul. There are many stores that sell goods at moderate prices to expensive production domestically and internationally. Myeongdong is also the center of fashion and nightlife of young children in Seoul. The district is, in fact, the 9th most expensive city in the world in terms of floor space rental.

Korean cosmetics are famous outlets such as Face Shop and Etude. Various international fast food restaurants such as McDonald’s and KFC can also be found here.

Not only that, in Myeongdong, you can see the set of two serial drama that Princess Hours and Boys Before Flowers. For Princess Hours, this is where Lee Shin and Chae-gyeong spend their time together. While in the Boys Before Flowers, one of the location that is filmed in the movie happens to be a restaurant called The Farmer’s Table.

Myeongdong

Myeongdong can be reached by subway line 4 before getting off at the Myengdong Station. This is a shopping tour in South Korea. Myeongdong is a shopping paradise in South Korea. Various latest fashion clothing in South Korea can be found in this place. If you want to determine the trend of clothing in there, visit Myeongdong

In addition to clothing, this place also sells various cosmetic products ranging from head to toe. You can also find a variety of interesting culinary cuisine in Myeongdong, ranging from roadside hawker to first-class restaurant. This is why Myeongdong becomes a favorite among lovers of shopping.

HOW TO TRAVEL TO SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA FROM INDONESIA

The ticket of Garuda Indonesia go directly from Jakarta to South Korea. It has a flight schedule at 23.15 P.M. The flight flies from Soekarno Hatta airport Jakarta. The direct flight will take for about 9 hours and 15 minutes. Thus, it is estimated that the flight will then land at the Incheon airport in Seoul at 08:30 A.M. The ticket costs approximately Rp 7.829.000, not including additional expenses such as baggage expanse and value-added tax (10%). There is no transit from Jakarta to South Korea. We will go to Seoul, South Korea on November, 15th, 2016 and back to Indonesia on November, 23th, 2016. Because our money is limited, we will have to choose the economy class. We will visit three distincts place such as Changdeok Palace, Gyeongbok Palace and Myeongdong. We use common passport and visit visa. A single visa will cost approximately 285.000,-. We choose a hotel from Booking.com by Traveloka.com, which costs Rp 987.919 each day. Because we will arrive on November, 23th, 2016, the estimated cost for hotel is around Rp 8.891.271.
