PERSONALITYPersonality is the total pattern of an individual’s thoughts, feelings and
behaviors. It is shaped by a variety of factors, both inherited and
environmental.
ATTITUDE‘An attitude is a mental state, exerting a directive or dynamic influence upon the individual’s response to all objects and
situations with which it is related.’
BASIC COMPONENTS OF ATTITUDE Knowledge ,beliefs or disbeliefs. Feelings and desires Intention to perform an action.
USEFUL ATTRIBUTES OF INTELLIGENCE
Analytical Intelligence (IQ test, verbal fluency)
Spatial Intelligence (the ability to see patterns and connections)
Practical Intelligence (aptitude, handiness)
Intra-personal Intelligence (self awareness and control)
Inter-personal Intelligence (conflict resolution and co-operation)
ROLE THEORYRole theory suggests that people behave
in any situation according to other people’s expectations of how they should
behave in that situation.
TYPES OF GROUPS
FROMAL GROUP:Groups will be intentially organized by the organization, for a task which they are held responsible. They are task oriented and become teams.
INFORMAL GROUPS:Informal groups include workplace circles or groups, and network of people who regularly get together to exchange information.
STAGES OF GROUP DEVELOPMENT
Forming: The team is just coming together.
Storming: This frequently involves more or less open conflict between team members.
Norming: A period of settling down.
Performing: The team sets to work to execute its task.
TEAMA team is a small number of people with
complimentary skills who are committed to a common purpose, performance ,goals and a
approach for which they hold themselves basically accountable.
