A. Podar Medical College (Ayu), World, Mumbai, recently conducted a one month certificate course on ‘Panchakarma’ from 27/09/2010 to 26/10/2010 for Ayurvedic graduates from across the country. As a part of this course, Dr. Vineeta Deshmukh, Project Head-Cancer Research Project and Dr. Ranjeet Nimbalkar - Project Head-Delayed Bone healing project, from Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Trust’s Ayurved Hospital & Research Centre, Wagholi, Pune, were invited as guest speakers on 18/10/2010 at R. A. Podar Medical College (Ayu), World, Mumbai. Dr. Vineeta Deshmukh presented an evidence based and practically oriented lecture on the ‘Efficacy of Ayurved and Panchakarma in management of Cancer’. The highlight of this lecture was the live interactive session with various cancer patients who had benefited from Panchakarma treatment taken at Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Trust's Ayurved Hospital, Wagholi, Pune, under the expert guidance of Dr. S. P. Sardeshmukh. Dr. Vasanti Godse & Dr. Shrinivas Datar, senior clinical research associates at Cancer Research Project-Mumbai branch, also provided their valuable help in the arrangement & conduction of this interactive session. Dr. Ranjeet Nimbalkar in his lecture essayed the 'Role of Ayurved & Panchakarma in the management of delayed bone healing'. Both these lectures were highly appreciated by the course coordinators & all the participant delegates of the ICARE course. Launching of New Herbal Product of

Atharva Ayurved Pharmaceuticals

As a part of marketing activity, Atharva Ayurved Pharmaceuticals

arranged the programme for launching new pharmaceutical products

on 17/8/2010 at Hotel Coronet, Pune. About 70 renowned Ayurvedic

Physicians were invited. On this occasion, Hon. Vd. Vilas Nanal, Hon.

Vd. Samir Jamdagni, Hon. Vd. Prashant Suru were felicitated for their

excellent work in the field of Ayurved. Mr. Girish Gandhi, Proprietor,

Mankarnika Aushadhalaya was felicitated as successful business

entrepreneur.

“Tablet Pyrefor”, a newly approved product by FDA was launched by Hon. Vd. Prashant Suru, one of the

Trustees of Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Trust. Dr. S. P. Sardeshmukh, Director of Atharva Ayurved

Pharmaceuticals; Chairman of Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Trust and Dr. Mrs. Vaidya Hirlekar, Adviser,

Atharva Ayurved Pharmaceuticals graced the occasion. On this occasion, Dr. S. P. Sardeshmukh, guided

the vaidyas through his speech

A similar programme was arranged for launching of recently FDA

approved product “Atharva Uro Tab” on 31/8/2010 at Pimpri

Chinchwad region at hotel Celebration Inn. Hon. Vd.

Chandrashekhar Thite and Hon. Vd. Jaykumar Tamhane were

felicitated on this occasion. Both Honorable Ayurvedic Physicians

expressed their views on topics like Mutravaha Srotas Vikar

(Diseases of Urinary System) and Swine flu from Ayurvedic

perspective. About 60 well – known Ayurvedic Physicians attended the programme.

Heartiest Congratulations! Dr. Abhijit Arvind Kulkarni is the 2010 winner of the “Hind Rattan Award”. This annual

award is made to 30 members of the worldwide Indian Diaspora (comprising the

categories of both Non-resident Indian and Person of Indian Origin) by the NRI Welfare

Society of India, at a ceremony in connection with the yearly "International Congress of

Non Resident Indians” (held since 1982). This year's ceremony will be held on or

around the Indian Republic Day (January 26 2011) in New Delhi, India.

Nominees are selected based on peer recommendations based on their contributions to industry or

professional advancement. An advisory board constituting several prominent government and

nongovernmental personalities makes a final selection.

Dr. Abhijit Kulkarni MD is the Director of Advanced Endoscopy and the Gastrointestinal Laboratory at

Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. He received his medical degree from Topiwala National Medical

College, Mumbai in 1990 and completed his internship in Worcester, Massachusetts and residency in

gastroenterology in Pittsburgh, PA.

Golden Jubilee of Association with MusicA Music performance of Pt. Chandrakant Sardeshmukh was held at Pune on 21st

August 2010 at M. E. S. Garware College Auditorium to celebrate 50 years of his

association with music. On this occasion, he was felicitated by Pandit Nityanandji

Haldipur, a well known flautist (Basuri Player) & student of Shrimati Annapurnadevi. Dr.

Chandrakant Sardeshmukh is Executive trustee and Director of Sama Sangeet Sabha of

Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Trust .

In 1958 at the age of 4 years he started his association with music under the guidance

of Ustad Shahbuddin Khan Mirajkar. In 1961 at the age of six he staged his first

performance. In 1963 he acquired tutelage of Pandit Ravi Shankar for Sitar training. He is the only student to

acquire training from Pt. Ravi Shankar as well as Pt. Annapurna devi. In 1987 he got a Ph. D. in “Samvedeeya

Sangeet - Bharatiya Sangeet Mulasrota (Sanskrit)” i. e. “Significance of Samaveda as a main source of Indian

Music”.

He founded an international organization 'Darshanam' to promote Indian culture through music dance

drama etc. In his journey of music parampoojya Sardeshmukh Maharaj has played a significant role not only as

a father but also as a guide and philosopher.

Since 1990 to 2010 he has conducted various workshops on music and done research on the healing

power of music using it as a therapy. He is engaged in propagating Indian culture and music in countries like

Australia, Germany, Japan etc.
