Although on average there has been a modest increase in the number of security businesses, there has also been a sharp increase in the number of individual security officers as can be seen from the above graph.

1. Need to increase monitoring capacity to execute the core regulatory mandate.
2. Need to review the regulatory legislative framework based on the lessons learned from implementation to date.
3. Closer co-operation with other State Law Enforcement agencies.
4. Need to engage the industry to encourage “self-regulation”.
5. Research, development, and international “best practices”.
