• To provide a basic theoretical foundation for the study of industrial relations and human resource management, as well as a more contemporary analysis of changing employment practices.
• The MSc Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations traces developments in the employment relationship in the UK and comparatively, whereas the MSc International Human Resource Management and Comparative Industrial Relations examines international developments in human resource management and industrial relations
• To give students a grounding in research methods, including techniques of data collection and analysis, so that they can apply those methods appropriately either in the business world or in academic-based research.

• To provide psychology graduates who are intending to become Chartered Occupational Psychologists with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required by the Division of Occupational Psychology of the British Psychological Society (BPS)
• To provide a strong theoretical grounding in the all of the relevant areas of occupational psychology.
• To provide training in research methodology that will enable students to pursue high quality research, whether in postgraduate studies or in a business context

Course StructureCourse Structure• The course is studied over 12 months full time or 24 months
part-time; two taught semesters followed by the dissertation
• Each course unit is worth 15 credits, and the taught component is worth 120 credits in total. The dissertation is worth 60 credits.

• Research methods course units are delivered by national and international level experts in the respective areas. Research is usually carried out in consultancy firms or specialist sections of large organisations.
• All elements of the course allow for interdisciplinary training and interaction
• The provision of training and assessment to enable students to attain Level A and B certificates of competence in psychological testing during the course of their MSc (to our knowledge we are unique in offering Level A & B)
• The range of experience provided by guest speakers from both industry and academia
• The only difference between the two degrees is in the entry requirement (OP requires GBR). They run as one course and the student experience is the same
• Graduates are employed as internal consultants in large commercial and industrial organisations, in HR departments, in the Police, NHS and as management consultants.
