Quito and its surroundings which lasted a few days.

One day was spent in Otavalo and the surrounding

areas. The local colorful market in Otavalo was

absolutely beautiful, as well as the way there and back

visiting the Condor Park, the town of Cotacachi, the

Hosteria Hacienda in Pinsaqui as well as the gorgeous

setup of the Hosteria in Puertolago.

Time was well spent at the cloud forest (Mindo) where

we also had some real fun going down Omegas. One

of the highlights was visiting the "Middle of the World"

we were exposed to the museum as well as very well

put across explanations of the phenomena of being on

the Equator.

Having a chance to see and meet locals and

understanding the culture, habits, beliefs and history

of Quito was fascinating.”
