10 good reasons to store students mobiles in my lockers:1-Performance improvement—grades quickly improve on the whole , by average 6% -  as they are more attentive in class and a 14.23 % improvement in test scores for low-achieving students.2-For at risk students -By removing their phones from the classroom, it was the equivalent of adding an extra hour of class per week, or 5 days per year.3-Cuts Down on Screen Time-It’s normal for kids to spend about six  hours per day in front of a screen (be it a computer, phone, television) and that’s not even including any screen time that occurs at school.4-Reduces Cyber Bullying- Some students can be vicious with their  online messages. Kids should feel safe at school and not have to continually check their social media accounts to ensure that a peer isn’t posting cruel or harassing messages.5-Emergency contact by parents—they want to be able to reach them in case of an emergency. In order for them to be able to receive that emergency message, 

however, they’d have to not only leave their phones on, but also check their phones constantly to ensure that they’d receive this message. Most likely, they’d be wading  through a lot of distracting info as well

6- From a Parents perspective— For parents who want to boost their  children’s academic prospects , storing the phones is a start.

 7- Long term health issues— WHO (World Health Organisation) – Say “the lack of data for mobile phone use over time periods longer than 15 years warrant further research of mobile phone use”

 8– A phone ringing in class -Cell phones going off anytime during the class period is a distraction for all students.

 9– Cheating on test results- Students could cheat on a test by looking for information on the Internet. Also, they get distracted on their cell phones by being socially active by texting, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc etc.

 10– General distraction and potential Mental Health Issues– Addiction to technology 

is  real, the same goes for anxiety of the constant need.

Why Mobile Phones are not for workplace:• Mobile phone usage by employees produces negative effects in the

workplace regarding their performance and relationships.• Mobile phones have become a major issue causing employees to

become distracted, which affects their quality of work.• If a small business tries to forbid the use of phones, employees will

find ways to sneak a look at them by hiding them under their desks or going to the restroom.

• How well can workers be doing their job if they are constantly checking their Mobile phone for texts or social media feeds?

• One in four workers (24 percent) admitted that, during a typical workday, they will spend at least one hour a day on personal calls, emails or texts.

• Twenty-one percent estimated that they spend one hour or more during a typical workday visiting non-work related websites .

• Based on a work site that has 10 employees. If each spends 1 hour a day on mobile and average $30 per hour. That equates to $300 per day lost time for employers. That’s without taking into account their focus isn’t fully on the job the rest of the time.

• Productivity increase through less time staff spend looking at their phones during work hours

• Better safety, with staff more focused on their work without distractions or interruptions from sms messaging or phone calls.

• Can help reduce the overall excessive mobile daily use (Nomophobia). Where a person is constantly checking their phones out of habit during work hours.

• The individuals phone is charged fully while in the docking stations.• The phones are locked away in the docking station for security and

safety.•  Stops staff constantly checking other applications on their phones,

such as: face book, playing games and updating profiles.•  Deadlines are more adhered to and can reduce forced overtime due

to lack of attention in their work.•  A written policy on mobile phone usage at work that employees must

sign is crucial to compliance of cell phone use at work.
