Sonship

ADOPTION➤ Greek Word for "Adoption"➤ Huiothesia (hwee-oth-es-

ee'-ah)-adoption,as a son into the divine family

➤ hyiothesia (from hyios "son" & tithemi "to place")- properly,sonship (legally made a son)

DO YOU BELONG TO CHRIST?➤ Romans 8:9 KJV.

[9] But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

DOES HE "KNOW" YOU?➤ cf- Matthew 25:12➤ [12] But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you

not.

➤ To "know" is to acknowledge or approve. In the sense of Matthew 1:25 "he knew her not" refers to sexual intimacy. In many passages sexual intimacy was insenuated by "he went into her" (Gen. 29:23, Ruth 4:13)

➤ When we are filled with The Holy Spirit He comes into us. Not in a sexual manner but typifying intimacy. cf (John 14:17)

➤ Thus HIM not "knowing" the 5 foolish virgins in Matthew 25 refers to them not having any "oil" which symbolizes HIS Spirit. Without the Indwelling Holy Spirit there is no ownership or intimacy which means there is no sonship.

WHO ARE THE SONS OF GOD ➤ Romans 8:14 reads; "For as many

as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God."

➤ "For as many" shows a distinction between sons of God and all others.

HOW WE CRY ABBA FATHER➤ Romans 8:15 KJV➤ [15] For ye have not received the spirit of bondage

again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

➤ We cry Abba meaning Father only by the Spirit of Adoption. This makes us children of God.

➤ Romans 8:16➤ "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that

we are the children of God

THE HEART OF THE MATTER➤ Galatians 4:6-7 KJV➤ [6] And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts,

crying, Abba, Father. [7] Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

➤ By observing the text in Galatians in comparison with Romans 8:14, we see how by The Holy Spirit we cry Abba meaning Father

➤ The Holy Spirit lives in the heart of the coverted believer.

➤ The Greek Translation of "Heart" is kardia➤ Transliteration: kardia➤ Phonetic Spelling: (kar-dee'-ah)➤ Short Definition: the heart, inner life, intention➤ Definition: lit: the heart; mind, character, inner self, will, intention, center.

WHY THE PHARISEES WERE SONS OF THE DEVIL➤ John 8:41-47 KJV➤ [41] Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We

be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. [42] Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. [43] Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. [44] Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. CHILDREN OF DISOBEDIENCE ➤ Colossians 3:6 ➤ For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the

children of disobedience:➤ Ephesians 2:2-3 KJV➤ [2] Wherein in time past ye walked according to the

course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: [3] Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

CIRCUMCISION OF THE HEART➤ The heart of man must be transformed by the Holy Spirit.➤ This process starts with the Word of God being sown into the heart of man. cf-(Matthew 13)

➤ The heart of man is circumcised by the Word of God.

➤ Romans 2:29 KJV➤ But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in

the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

➤ Hebrews 4:12 KJV➤ For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to

the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

➤ This process shaves off the foreskin from the heart of man that harbors filth, unrighteousness, and other evils that are emnity with God. The Word of GOD divides Soul, Spirit, & Body to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart. Then to the willing heart, open heart surgery is commensed. This is the cultivating process for the soil (Heart) of man

CONDITION OF MAN'S HEART BEFORE ADOPTION➤ The heart prior to salvion is deceitful. The

LORD searches the heart ➤ Jeremiah 17:9-10 KJV➤ [9] The heart is deceitful above all things,

and desperately wicked: who can know it? [10] I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

WHERE THE HOLY SPIRIT IS SENT ➤ Galatians 4:4-7 KJV➤ [4] But when the fulness of the time was

come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, [5] To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. [6] And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. [7] Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. …

FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT ➤ Galatians 5:22-25 KJV➤ [22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy,

peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, [23] Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. [24] And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. [25] If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
