CTPLAT PresentationMo Ahmed662216The IndustryDuring my time at Portsmouth University, I have studied Television & Film Production. I have discovered that I would like to seek a career within the film industry, as it is the aspect of the course of which I am most interested in.However, a job within the Television industry, working on highly reputable series such as Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones is also a dream of mine.Desired Roles Within The IndustryProduction Management

Production Managers organize the business, finance and employment issues in film and television productions. They arein charge ofhow the production budget is spent and making sure that everything runs smoothly during filming.I believe I have the potential to become a production manager as I enjoy all of the behind the scenes aspects of production. I am good with numbers and I have a passion for organization. I feel as though I would be well suited to the management side of production as I strongly believe in the saying that preparation is key.Director of Photography

A cinematographer or director of photography (sometimes shortened to DP or DOP) is the chief over the camera and lighting crews working on a film, television production or other live action piece and is responsible for achieving artistic and technical decisions related to the image.I believe I have the potential to become a DOP within the film industry as I am confident in my ability to, direct as well as having confidence in my creative vision in producing professional looking shots.

Tumblr Blog

http://maaproductions.tumblr.comTumblr BlogTumblr is an excellent way of displaying your work for different members of the industry to see. It has enabled me to showcase the progression of my work, whether it be through my business card ideas, my logo or my CV

It is a great way to collect all of the work I have produced in order to showcase it as well as keep note of all of the work/research I have done to build my portfolio

StrengthsMy strengths in my work are showcased through my Tumblr.I have a creative mind, therefore I am able to come up with ideas for productions easily. The job roles I wish to fulfill are depicted within my blog through pictures and my CV.The research attained from the unit helps me gain an extensive knowledge on the job roles I want and what is involved within themThe research on Business cards/Logo/CV ideas has helped me to produce or begin to produce my final products in preparation of my professional career after University.I am able to keep an up to date diary of what I am currently working on for future reference. It also helps me eliminate or adopt ideas for designs. It enables me to make note of particular short films or productions that I have enjoyed in the past.

WeaknessesI would like to be able to update my Tumblr more often but I have been very busy with work.I would like to get a nicer looking theme as I feel as though my theme at the moment is not relative to my industry and it looks unprofessional and unclearI am not an avid user of Photoshop, of which I desire to become skilled in as I feel it is a very useful tool of which could be put towards the design of my logo/business cardI need to create more extensive details of the progression of my CVI need to organise my productions and collect all of the ones I have created throughout my time as a film maker.

LogoFor my Logo, I wanted to go for something original. I didn'tt want to create something that looked particularly filmic or stereotypically viewed as a media production company logo. I wanted to create a logo that incorporated my initials in a stylish, professional looking manner. To gain inspiration, I researched the following logos, of which have helped me to obtain the logo I strived for and created.

Logo

Business CardHere are a few ideas I have researched for my business cards, of which will feature my logo. I hope to make it as professional looking as possible, yet minimalistic and straight to the point. I do not want a typical Film workers business card, such as ones shaped like a clapperboard. I feel as though this is a very cheap and tacky design and it would not appeal to an employer.

Business Card

Next StepsMy next points of action are:Begin research on showreels to then construct it once my production work is finishedFinish my CV in order to be ready to hand it to employees amongst the industryFinish designing and creating my business cardsSeek jobs within the industry for work experience or jobs
