The jenkintown festival of the art and crafts show is open to all craft artists who are residents of and working in the United States. This festival was

held on September 21st in Jenkintown town square.there are works shown from various artist's creativity and individuality which is open to any artist

who is interested or design and produce their own handcrafted work. The arts festival includes jewelry, crafts, mixed media, photography/prints, and

paintings. Not only can viewers browse and and explore, they can also enjoy live music a long with dance performances.nearly 5,000 people attended last

year's event and continues to grow every year. The festival's popularity proceeds to attract new artists and performers every year.there are more than fifty artists working In a range of mediums from painting to photography and from jewelry to textiles. This festival definitely made me see a different kind the way art is seen. Everything is handmade which made the experience that much more beautiful. This was actually one of my first art festival visit so It

really gave me a different perspective on now I perceive art. I was much more interested in each work I saw and was amazed how each piece had been made. This experience without doubt opened my eyes a little more on just how much time really goes into one piece of art work. Each piece, whether it was a piece of jewelry or a painting, had such an original style to it. One can really see the great detail that goes into everything which makes you seeing a picture of it on a computer such a downgrade. Although a photograph of an art piece is a great

way to discover artists online, seeing it in person is ten times more satisfying than viewing it on a screen. It's just not the same experience.

Matts tribal jewelry is mostly made from clay and melted glass. Earrings are recycled wood pieces from old furniture, burn-etched, and and then wood stained followed by natural orange oil blend to seal the jewelry piece. Rings are a little more simple, as you can see Matt uses

wires and different form of rocks/pebbles. All individually handcrafted.

Real fruit jewelry is one of its kind. It is one of the most interesting and creative set of jewelry I have ever seen. These pieces of fresh fruit automatically catch the viewers eye. Not only are the colors and shapes beautiful cut and made, it is

then set with resin to give it that shine and longevity.

Abington junior high school student's artwork varied from

paintings to drawings to actually sculptures. The

model of the Rita's water ice is a bit similar to how Koons'

work is done, with one difference, this student stayed true to replicating the exact

piece without manipulating it to be something it is not,

besides the obvious change in size.

Ben Robinson's artwork is influenced by abstract, surrealism, and graffiti. Robinson uses a range of variation including highlighting,

shadowing, and strong contrast between the colors. He blends the lines and shapes to make these abstract paintings and your attention is

drawn to it because of the great colors he chose.

"Wire People Here" is a striking work of art using nothing more than a bundle of wire and a pair of pliers . Sean

Brady's human form are like knotted cages, unoccupied of all that makes us function and still, there is still a bit of

people/(the kindness of people) left in them in spite of all that negative space.

I wanted to add this photo of a bakery that was also one of the presentations held at the festival. I wanted to show that

art can be anything. Although these cupcakes are more simple than what I have seen before, making cupcakes is similar to

creating a painting. It takes time and patience to create what you want it to look like and how you want people to see it.
