We have been observing

OBSERVATION

Static Electricity

Conductors and Insulators

Circuits

Magnetism and magnets

HYPOTHESISThese are our questions

● Can playdough conduct electricity?

● Can a balloon attract aluminium foil?

● Can an electric current produce magnetism?

● Can a lemon generate electricity?

Experimentation● We created circuits using salt playdough,

lemons and potatoes.

● We checked that magnetism moves the arrow on a compass.

● We created an electro-magnetic circuit that attracted paper clips.

● With a magnet we checked that iron chips form the shape of the magnet .

CONCLUSION

If we rub a balloon against wool, it attracts small pieces of aluminium foil.

We now know that...

We have checked the hypothesis with different experiments

Circuit elements: a battery, a conductive wire, a switch and a receptor (which can be a light bulb).

Lemons, potatoes and salt playdough are conductors

Electricity and magnetism are related:this becomes electromagnetism
