What is a Preposition?A part of speech that shows the relationship between a noun/pronoun and some other word in the sentence.
What is a prepositional phrase?
A group of words beginning with a preposition and ending with a noun or
pronoun.
What is the object of the preposition?
Follows the preposition and tells
“what?”
For example, in the sentence
Timothy sat on the raft.
the word on is a preposition, introducing the prepositional phrase on the raft.
The object of the preposition is raft.
