Veteran Classes, Classes for dogs or bitches 7 years old & under 9 years, 9 years and under 11 years, and

11 years and over. Hunting Retriever Dogs and Bitches - Classes for Dogs and Bitches that have earned an AKC Junior, Senior

or Master Hunter title under AKC rules. Sexes divided.

*Chapter 11, Section 8 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows allows spayed bitches and castrated dogs to be shown in the Veterans Class in classes at Independent Specialties, and are eligible for competition in Best of Breed.

Field Trial Dogs and Bitches - For any dog or bitch that has won, placed or received a Judge’s Award of

Merit in any AKC licensed or member field trial.

Winners of the above Non-Regular Classes, if otherwise undefeated, are eligible to compete for Best of Breed Competition.

BEST OF BREED COMPETITION

Judges' Award of Merit - This award is given at the Judge's discretion. The Award of Merit winners will be

selected after the Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed, Best of Winners, & Select Dog &

Bitch awards are made. All dogs remaining in competition are eligible for an Award of Merit. The number of

awards will be up to 10% of the Best of Breed entry.

Junior Showmanship Classes Novice Class: for boys & girls at least 9 years and under 18 years of age on the day of the show who at the time entries close, have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at

a licensed or member show. Open Class: for boys & girls at least 9 and under 18 years of age on the day of the show who at the time entries close, have won three (3) first place awards in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show, with

competition present. Master Class - for boys & girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and

who have won the 10 first place wins in an Open Class with competition to be eligible to enter the Limited Class Competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC Royal Canin National Championship. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master

Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to complete for the following

year.

Puppy Sweepstakes

Puppy Sweepstakes is open to purebred Golden Retrievers who are 6 months & under 18 months of age on the day of the show. All dogs entered in Sweepstakes must also be entered in a Regular Class. AKC Champions of Record are not eligible. Indicate Sweepstakes and age division on the regular entry form under “Additional Classes.”

Veteran Sweepstakes Veteran Sweepstakes are open to Golden Retrievers 7 years and older. Veteran Sweepstakes entries need not be entered in the regular Classes at this show. Champions of Record are eligible to compete. Spayed bitches and neutered dogs are eligible.

BITCHES IN SEASON In the case of a bitch in season in Obedience & Rally Competition Only, a refund of all but $3.00 of the entry fee for the Obedience Class (Classes) will be returned upon sending a written statement from a Veterinarian to the Superintendent postmarked before the day of the show.

One combined class, not divided by sex, will be offered for Golden Retrievers that are at least four months and under six months on the day of the competition. All of the puppies are exhibited in the same class and the only placements are Best of Breed (BOB) and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed (BOS).

Entry and eligibility requirements:

• AKC registration number or an AKC litter number will be required for entries of an AKC recognized breed as listed in Chapter 3, Section 1 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows. A foreign born dog may enter this class if they are registered in the country of origin.

• All entrants are to be vaccinated (including rabies) in accordance with their veterinarian's protocol.

• Professional handlers are not permitted to exhibit in this class. (Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers' organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay).

Exhibitors should plan on opening the mouth of their puppy for the judges. Breed standard disqualifications such as color, height, weight or dentition shall not be a point of consideration in the judging process for this 4-6 month Puppy Special Attraction event. Fee - $18.00

Club Show, Obedience Trial or Tracking Test. If a dog is entered in more than one class in one of these events, the AKC Recording Fee and Service Fee is to be collected on the first entry only. (AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows, Chapter 11, Section 2). An AKCRecordingFee of $3.00 willbe required foreachentryin anyLicensedor Member Club RallyTrial.If a dogis entered in more than one class in a Rally event, the AKC Recording Fee is to be collected on each of the entries of that dog. (AKC Rally Regulations, Chapter 1, Section 3.) All Recording Fees are paid to the American Kennel Club.

RETURNED CHECKS do not constitute a valid entry fee. A charge of $20.00 will be made for each returned check. Subsequent returned checks from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY basis.

EFFECTIVE MAY 1, 2006 an administrative Fee of $2.00 will be withheld from all refunds for entries cancelled prior

to the closing of entries. TELEGRAPH, TELEPHONE and UNSIGNED ENTRIES CANNOT BE ACCEPTED.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF ENTRIES will be made as soon as practicable with tickets and/or identification cards. The

person accompanying a dog must show tickets of admission and identification before the dog will be received. SHOULD

SUCH ACKNOWLEDGEMENT NOT BE RECEIVED BY THE EXHIBITOR within a reasonable time, please notify

MAKE ALL CHECKS AND MONEY ORDERS PAYABLE TO J.R.D.S., Ltd. Please mail checks or money orders with

entries. Superintendent assumes no responsibility for cash sent through the mail.

ALL CREDIT CARD ENTRIES, REGARDLESS OF METHOD SUBMITTED, are processed through the FAX program and

will be charged a $4.00 per dog per show processing fee. CANADIAN EXHIBITORS make fees payable in U.S. FUNDS.

NO ENTRY SHALL BE MADE AND NO ENTRY SHALL BE ACCEPTED WHICH SPECIFIES ANY CONDITIONS AS TO

ITS ACCEPTANCE.

ENTRY FEES shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from competition by action of Show Committee. If because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open or to complete the show, no refund of entry fee will be made. Extreme weather conditions, such as, but not limited to snow storms, hurricanes, lightning, extreme heat, must be considered for the health and safety of the dogs, exhibitors and spectators. The well-being of dogs, exhibitors and spectators is of paramount importance and, in the event it is necessary to cancel or stop the show before completion, no refund of entry fee will be made.

ERRORS ON ENTRY BLANKS. Owners are responsible for errors in making out entry forms, whoever may make such

errors, and no entry fee will be refunded in event of such errors or cancellation of entries after the published closing

date. NO REFUND FOR DUPLICATE ENTRIES. We will make every effort to find all duplicate entries, but if a dog has been processed,

no refund will be made. CONSULT JUDGING PROGRAM FOR TIME OF JUDGING.

DOGS MAY ARRIVE any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. DOGS NOT REQUIRED for further judging will be excused. JUDGES WILL NOT WAIT FOR ANY DOG HOLDING UP A CLASS. Owners or agents alone are respon-sible for the

presence of their dogs in the judging ring when their classes are called to be judged. The show-giving club and the Superintendent have no obligation or responsibility for providing service through a public address system or stewards

or runners for the purpose of calling or locating dogs that are not brought into the ring when required.

ALL DOGS PRESENT must be held on leash or confined to their crates except when being judged or when in the exercising

ring.

THE SHOW COMMITTEE/SUPERINTENDENT will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but

will not be responsible for, nor assume any liability in the event of an accident or misfortune to either dogs or exhibitors

participating in this show.

BITCH IN SEASON In the case of a bitch in season in Obedience/Rally Competition Only, a refund of all but $3.00 of the

entry fee for the Obedience/Rally Class (Classes) will be returned upon sending a written state-ment from a Veterinarian

to the Superintendent postmarked before the day of the show.

CANINE COURTESY All dogs shall be kept under control at all times. You are responsible for picking up after the animals

in your care.

PLEASE EXERCISE DOGS IN DESIGNATED AREAS ONLY There will be pooper scoopers and containers placed around

the grounds. PLEASE USE THEM. All regulations will be enforced by the Grounds Committee.

DECLINATION OF ENTRIES The Potomac Valley Golden Retriever Club may decline any entries for cause and may refuse

to receive or may remove on account of disease, viciousness or other causes and no one shall have any claim or

recourse against the Potomac Valley Golden Retriever Club or any official thereof.

The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed competition is Limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship.

3. (Dog ShowClass) Consult the classification in this premiumlist, if the dog show class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then, in addition to designating the class, specify the particular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e., age division, color division, weight division.

4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for a show closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any show for which entries closed after the dateofacquirement, regardlessofwhetherthenewownerhasreceivedtheregistrationcertificateindicatingthatthedogisrecorded in his name.
