reputation for the quality and innovation of our entrance matting

range.

GEGGUS systems are produced in a wide range of styles

from the highest quality materials ideally suited to today’s heavy

traffic entranceways.

They are designed for a wide variety of applications to compliment

interior and exterior styling.

Very simply, there is no better way of making first impressions

The location of the company is in southwest Germany,

approx. 100 km south of Frankfurt and 80 km northwest

of Stuttgart, the location of Mercedes Benz.

Germany is divided into federal states. The location

of GEGGUS or Porsche is in Baden-Württemberg.

The capital city of Baden-Württemberg is Stuttgart.

The unemployment rate in Baden-Württemberg is around

3,7%, one of the lowest in Germany.

The location of GEGGUS is Weingarten near Karlsruhe.

Weingarten has a history of more than 1000 years and is

a major wine-growing-region in the south of Germany.

GEGGUS is a family business with around 50 employees and

owner operated for three generations.

A specialist in high class entrance matting systems generating

a total sales volume of approx. EUR 10 million per annum, as

well as being a worldwide market leader in high standard

entrance matting.

Founded in 1947 by the grandfather of today’s managing

director, entrance matting was handcrafted in the basement

of the parental home in Weingarten. The early mats were

produced by punch linking elements from truck tyres.

Today the capacity is around 45,000 m2 per annum, which is

produced solely at the location in Weingarten.

Different heights and thicknesses of the aluminium profiles offer the

optimum barrier solution for any application.

The mats are handcrafted according to a modular principle requiring

a very short production time of just 5 days.

All mats are equipped with specially developed noise reduction rubber

strip on the base of the mats. The rubber profiles are mechanically

fitted into the profile.

GEGGUS only use materials from pre suppliers from Germany,

Netherlands or Switzerland to keep the highest standard of quality.

• Mechanically fitted rubber profiles underneath on any profile

reduces noise when walking on or crossing the mats.

Material Control / Warranty

There is a close collaboration between GEGGUS and several

Material Control Boards in Germany and Austria.

The test reports are in our library and available for the following items:

• Loading: Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, Germany

• Fireproof:

– TFI Testing Board, Aachen (Germany)

– ÖTI Testing Board, Vienna (Austria)

• Anti-slip: IFA Material Control Board for Industrial Safety,

Sankt Augustin (Germany)

It allows us to present our customer a warranty of two years according the

Construction Tendering and Contract Regulations only for the construction

and connection of the mat but not for the wearing parts.

The special ramped edged frame is for aluminium profile

mats Top Clean Trend® 10 and 17 mm. By supporting the

mat the ramped edge serves as an aid for wheelchairs and

prams when crossing the mat.

Accessories

The dirt catch collection trays are made of stainless steel

or aluminium and offer extended dirt collection, while also

ensuring regulated water drainage.

Cleaning And Maintenance

Like any other floor covering subject to heavy use, GEGGUS

Entrance Matting Systems benefit from a regular cleaning regime.

The foot-borne dirt will have fallen between the treads into the well.

The cleaning of accumulated dirt from the mat well is made so much

simpler by the facility to roll up the mat while using a brush or

vacuum cleaner to remove the dirt. It is important to ensure that dirt

does not become lodged under the aluminium sections as this would

stop the mat from lying flat in the well.

Under normal circumstances the mat can be cleaned using a vacuum

cleaner but in areas of particularly heavy usage it is recommended

that the matting receive a regular clean using a high-pressure

cleaner. To do this it will be necessary to remove the mat to a suitable

location and stand it vertically for cleaning and drying.

Insert Replacement

If an insert becomes soiled with a contaminant such as chewing gum

or oil which makes it impossible to clean, individual tread inserts can

be replaced as shown here. However it must be stressed that this

should only be considered for one or two treads as replacement of

more than that is impractical. New tread inserts are available by

calling us and quoting the style of matting and the colour of the insert.

All GEGGUS mats are marked with an engraved order number thus

making every mat a unique item and enabling us to follow up the

matting after the sales.

Hence we are able to keep a record of all matting on our data base and

to offer an easy replacement service after a certain period of usage.
