ENTRY CANCELLATIONS AND REFuNDS1. Entry cancellations MUST be received in writing (email correspon-

dence is acceptable) prior to the closing of entries or before limitshave been reached. Requests MUST INCLUDE dog’s UKC NUMBER,breed, name, and event-type entered. Cancellations by phone willnot be accepted. Emailed cancellations must be sent [email protected].

2. Cancelled entries submitted before the close of entries will becharged a cancellation fee. The cancellation fee is 50 percent of theentire entry fee. No entries will be refunded after the closing dateand time or after entry limits have been reached.

3. No refund of entry fees will be made for entries cancelled AFTER theclosing date and time, or after entry limits have been reached,except in the cases of females that come into season and areentered in a performance event. In those cases, refunds may be

ing. If a duplicate entry is processed, however, no refund will bemade.

7. Entry overpayments may be donated to the general trophy fund.8. If, because of riots, civil disturbances, or other acts beyond the con-

trol of the host organization, it is impossible to open or to completean event, no refund of entry fees will be made.

9. If, in the opinion of the host club, the well-being of dogs, exhibitors, orspectators is at risk due to extreme weather conditions, such as but notlimited to, snow storms, hurricanes, tornados, lightning, or extremeheat, the host club may cancel or stop an event before completion. Norefunds will be made in such cases.

ENTRY ELIGIBILITY1. Dogs must be permanently registered with UKC, have a Temporary

Listing (TL) number, or have a Limited Privilege (LP)/PerformanceListing (PL) listing number by the closing date and time in order toenter. No exceptions will be made. Entries for ineligible dogs will bereturned.

2. Dogs must meet the eligibility requirements for the event whichthey are entering. For requirements, refer to the appropriate eventrules and regulations.

ENTRY CONFIRMATION, ARMBANDS, AND JuDGING PROGRAM1. Receipt of online entries will be acknowledged upon submission, but

this does not constitute confirmation of a valid entry.2. Electronic confirmation of entries will be sent to the e-mail address

included on the entry form as soon as the entry has been acceptedand processed. If you do not receive a confirmation by the Saturdaypreceding these events (June 8, 2019), please notify UKC.

3. The Judging Program will not be mailed but will be available from theUKC website approximately ten days prior to the event.

4. One armband will be assigned to each entered dog for all event(s) inwhich the dog is entered for the weekend. Entry confirmation infor-mation will be printed on the back of the armband. Armbands willbe mailed prior to the event.

5. A duplicate set of armbands will be available at the superintendent’sdesk.

CLASS CHANGE/CORRECTION OF ENTRY1. Owners are responsible for the accuracy of information on the entry

forms. Owners are responsible for any errors made on entry forms,regardless of who may make such errors. Owners and exhibitors areresponsible for correcting any errors on their entry.

2. If, according to the owner’s records, dogs that have completed therequirements for a title after the closing of entries may be moved upfrom the entered class to the class for which it is eligible, providedthe move up is requested in writing to UKC not later than one-halfhour prior to the start of any regular judging at the show in whichthe entry is being made.

3. Any corrections to entries must be made in writing to UKC using theappropriate form provided not later than one-half hour prior to thestart of any regular judging at the show.

CONFORMATION1. Licensed Classes. Regular and Altered classes will be offered for all eli-

gible breeds and Junior Showmanship. **Friday is the conformationqualifier for regular and altered Total Dog and Total Junior.

2. Non-Licensed Classes. Total Dog and Total Junior.3. One show offered Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for a total of three

shows. 4. Belgian Shepherd Dogs: The customary conformation procedure will

be used on Friday. The Assisted Animation/Critique Procedure willbe used on Saturday and Sunday. All rules and regulations for thechosen Assisted Animation/Critique Procedure will be adhered to.All efforts will be made to include the Belgian Shepherd Dog in theGroup ring. However, the Herding Group will not be held up if theBelgian Shepherd Dog Best of Breed is not chosen in time for theGroup competition.

Total Junior Participant Parade and Announcement of Qualifiers1. Saturday, June 15, 2019 in the Main Expo building, following the

2. A parade of Total Junior participants will kick off this special recog-nition. All Total Junior participants (dog and handler teams) willreport for the parade of Total Junior participants.

3. Following the parade of participants will be the announcement ofthe Total Junior Qualifiers.

TOTAL DOG AWARDHeld over two days: Conformation Qualifier held Friday, and Perform-ance Qualifier held Saturday. Dogs will not earn all Total Dog require-ments on the same day. This will apply solely for the UKC’s PREMIERevent. To be eligible for a Total Dog award, a dog must meet the fol-lowing criteria:1. On Friday, June 14, 2019, compete in Conformation (Regular or

Altered) with competition and win one of the following awards: BestMale/Female of Variety, Best Male/Female, Best of Winners, Cham-pion, Reserve Champion, Champion Award of Merit, Grand Champi-on, Reserve Grand Champion, Grand Champion Award of Merit, Bestof Breed, Group 1 through 4 (Group 4 win only counts if there arefive or more breeds in the Group class), Best In Show, or ReserveBest In Show from the Regular or Altered Conformation classes. Thefollowing addition to the existing Total Dog rules regarding Confor-mation competition requirements for the Champion and GrandChampion classes shall apply solely on Friday, June 14, 2019.

a. Champion and Grand Champion Classes. Champion Award ofMerit and Grand Champion Award of Merit shall count towardcompetition win when computing a Total Dog qualifier. Thenumber of Awards of Merit to be awarded shall be calculatedas follows:• 5-9 dogs in competition – 1 AOM• 10-14 dogs in competition – 2 AOM• 15-19 dogs in competition – 3 AOM• 20-24 dogs in competition – 4 AOM• 25-29 dogs in competition – 5 AOM• 30-34 dogs in competition – 6 AOM• 35-40 dogs in competition – 7 AOM

2. On Saturday, June 15, 2019, earn a qualifying score in a Performanceevent. All dogs must beentered in Total Dog upon submission of entry into the Conforma-tion class in which the dog is eligible for on Friday, June 14, 2019.

Total Dog Qualifiers Parade, Total Dog Groups, and Total Dog Best InShow Competition will follow after PREMIER Best In Show Competitionon Saturday, June 15, 2019 in the Main Expo Building. After the con-clusion of the Total Junior Parade and the announcement of Total Jun-ior Qualifiers, the Total Dog Qualifiers parade will take place (consultthe Judging Program for changes in time or location).1. A parade of Total Dog Qualifiers (including Altered) will kick off this

special recognition and competition. All Total Dog Qualifiers (dogand handler teams) will report for the parade of Total Dog Quali-fiers, followed by the announcement of the Total Dog Qualifiers(including Altered).

2. Total Dog Qualifiers will then compete in Total Dog Groups. TheTotal Dog Groups are the standard eight groups. Each dog that qual-ifies will compete in the group that its breed belongs to. There willbe no Altered Total Dog group competition.

3. Total Dog Group One winners will proceed to the Total Dog Best InShow competition and compete for the 2019 PREMIER Total DogBest In Show and the 2019 PREMIER Total Dog Reserve Best InShow.

4. Following the Total Dog Best in Show, the Altered Total Dog quali-fiers will compete for a 2019 PREMIER Altered Total Dog Best inShow and 2019 Premier Altered Total Dog Reserve Best in Show.

General Building and Parking Information1. Building and Grounds will be open to exhibitors at 3 p.m. on Tues-

day, June 11, 2019. Overnight security is not provided. All times areEastern Daylight Savings Time.

2. Building and Grounds will be open to exhibitors at 7 a.m. Wednes-day-Sunday. Building will close at 10 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday. OnSunday, the building will close 30 minutes after the conclusion ofBest of the Best or 6 p.m., whichever is later.

3. Please follow the directions of the parking attendants to facilitate anorderly traffic flow through the unloading and parking areas. Vehi-cles are allowed a 15-minute unloading time. Violators will betowed.

4. There will be limited Conformation crating in Expo North Room Aand Room B. Limited Rally and Obedience crating will be in ExpoSouth and crating for Agility will be outside under the tent attachedto the Agility ring.

5. Grooming space is on a first come, first served basis. Empty groom-ing space may not be saved.

6. No rugs or ground cover mats are allowed on the floor.7. No exercise pens inside any building. There is ample room for pri-

vate ex-pens outside.8. Exhibitors will be required to stack their crates when crating in any

buildings.9. Dogs may not be left unattended when on a grooming table or crat-

ed in soft mesh crates. No dog may be left in an unlatched or un-zip-pered crate.

10. Dogs must not be left in the buildings overnight. All dogs must beout of the buildings by 10 p.m.

11. No dogs or pets of any kind in restrooms or showers.12. No foreign substances allowed on dogs.13. For Conformation, small ringside tables and crates are only allowed


at ringside during the judging of a single breed. The Event Commit-tee may order these tables and crates to be removed at their dis-cretion. Please do not abuse this privilege.

14. There will be absolutely NO SMOKING/VAPING in any building ordesignated areas.

15. Admission Fee: $5 per car per day or $10 per car for a weekendpass (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.). An admission pass for exhibitors will bemailed with armbands.

16. No cones or other means may be used to save parking spaces in orabout the parking lot or campgrounds.

17. Overnight parking for RVs and camping available. For campinginformation, see the Camping Registration form in this PremiumList.

Exhibitor and General Information1. All events are held under the Rules and Regulations of the United

Kennel Club.2. UKC, its agents, and its employees assume no responsibility for any

loss, damage, or injury sustained by spectators, exhibitors, and/orhandlers, or to any of their dogs or property, and further assume noresponsibility for injury to children not under the control of theirparents or guardians. UKC is not responsible for loss, accidents, ortheft.

3. Scheduling Conflicts for Dogs Competing in Multiple Eventsa. Exhibitors are responsible for being available for judging at the

scheduled time.b. Every possible effort will be made to accommodate exhibitors

who have dogs entered in multiple events, but judges are notrequired to wait for dogs. Exhibitors are advised to notify stew-ards in all rings affected by the conflict so judges may workaround any conflicts more easily.

c. All Stars exhibitors: please be advised the Agility, Obedience,Rally Obedience, and Drag Racing All Stars Invitationals are notrequired to make allowances or accommodations for dogsand/or handlers entered in the All Stars Competition and anyother event.

4. UKC encourages exhibitors to present their dogs with the leastamount of grooming necessary to enable a judge to properly com-pare each dog with its breed standard. Dogs should be clean, haveclean teeth, and have nails cut to a length suitable for the dog toperform the work for which it was bred. UKC enforces rules againstartificially altering pigment, coat color, and coat texture with prod-ucts, surgical alterations, or other means as outlined in the OfficialUKC Rules for All-Breed Events. The judge’s determination that thisrule has been violated shall be final.

5. The owner or designated handler of each dog is solely responsiblefor having it ready at ringside when its class is to be judged. The hostorganization, event committee, and superintendent have no obliga-tion or responsibility for providing service through a public-addresssystem, stewards, or runners for locating dogs that are not broughtinto the ring when required.

6. Dogs may arrive any time prior to their scheduled time of judging.Dogs not required for further judging do not need to remain inattendance.

7. Please remember to turn off cell phones or any other device beforeentering rings.

8. No unentered dogs allowed on the event grounds. No dog less than8 weeks of age may be present on the grounds of a UKC licensedevent.

9. Exhibitors and dog owners are expected and required to clean upafter their own dogs. Any person witnessing a violation of this rulemust report it to the Event Committee. The Event Committee mayask any person violating this rule to leave the event grounds. Norefund will be made if an exhibitor is asked to leave the grounds.

10. The use of alcohol and unprescribed drugs by exhibitors and judgeswhile participating in a UKC licensed event is prohibited.

11. ATVs (4-Wheelers) are prohibited on the grounds of the Kalamazoo

County Fairgrounds.12. No bicycles are allowed in any building or directly around any

event ring. Failure to adhere may result in the expulsion of thecyclist from the Event Grounds.

13. Skateboards and roller blades are allowed in the camping areaonly.

14. UKC will vigorously support any lodging facility that files a com-plaint about exhibitors who fail to keep their dogs quiet or to cleanup after them. UKC will take disciplinary action against any offend-ers.

15. All rights to televise, videotape, advertise, photograph, promote,or otherwise exploit the event are vested in United Kennel Cluband its assignees. All persons and animals on the event grounds atany time while the shows are in progress do, by attending theseshows, grant to the club the right to photograph, televise, video-tape, audiotape, or otherwise use their likeness and voice in anymanner without further release or consent.

What is Precision Coursing?Precision Coursing is a new competitive sport where dogs compete in “Sprints” andhave their fastest course time recorded. Dogs run the course twice per Sprint (once ineach direction). The course is 200 feet long and includes a series of turns to test speedand swiftness.

How Does My Dog Earn a Title?Runs are timed! Course time is recorded. A dog’s FASTEST Sprint time will be recordedas their Qualifying Leg. A dog can receive 2 qualifying legs per day, and it takes 3 legsto earn a Novice title.

How Do I Sign Up?Open Gate sign-ups, meaning there is no pre-registration required! Competitionhours will posted at the Precision Coursing field for each day, so be sure to check it out.

Cost: $20/Sprint (includes two runs - one in each direction).

1. Nosework trials will include a pre-trial for the levels being run. Dogs need to pass the pre-trial for the level they are competing in.Dogs may be entered prior to passing, but must pass the pre-trial prior to competing that day. If the dog has passed on ORT inthe applicable odor please submit a copy of proof.

2. Individual element classes are divided into Levels “N”-“E” and further divided into “A” and “B” sections depending on the experi-ence of the dog and/or handler. Be sure to check the rules regarding the divisions. For these classes, dogs will only be searchingthe elements chosen.

3. Full Nosework Trials are divided into Levels “N”-“E” and further divided into “A” and “B” sections depending on the experience ofthe dog and/or handler. These trials contain all four elements. Each element passed earns a leg toward a title in that element.

4. Handler Discrimination. One glove will be used and must be provided by the handler.5. All entries must be submitted on the current “Official UKC® Nosework Trial Entry Form”.6. Use a separate entry form for each dog entered in a club's event.7. Nosework events are open to all UKC registered breeds and mixed-breed dogs with a valid Performance Listing/Limited Privilege

number/Permanent Registration/Temporary Listing.8. We want you to keep the points earned at UKC Licensed events. Important things to remember:

• All dogs entering UKC events must be permanently registered, have a valid Temporary Listing Number, or a PerformanceListing/Limited Privilege number.

• Dog not UKC registered? Apply for a Temporary Listing Number (TL) online at www.ukcdogs.com/tl-numbers. (TL feesare non-refundable, non-transferable and do not apply to the cost of permanent registration.)
