What can happen if I deliver my baby too

early?

The earlier the baby is born the higher the risk for acute, chronic, and developmental problems, and

complicated diseases involving the lungs, brain, eyes, heart, intestines,

liver, infections, and more.

EVERY WEEK IN THE WOMB COUNTS!

ANYONE CAN HAVE A PREMATURE BIRTH.

There are multiple factors that contribute to

prematurity, but the cause is usually unknown. ARE YOU AT RISK?

1. History of premature baby or

premature labor? 2. Pregnant with twins or

multiples? 3. History of miscarriage or

abortion? 4. Had a baby less than 12

months ago? 5. Less than 18, or older than 35? 6. African American ancestry? 7. History of high blood pressure

or diabetes? 8. Do you smoke or use illicit

drugs? 9. Underweight or significantly

overweight? 10. Uterus or cervix problems? 11. Under a lot of stress?

A YES answer to any question indicates risk.
