The book from which it was adapted is described as the bible of science fiction .The film would be made in collaboration with with Dan O’Bannon, Christopher Foss, Jean Giroud (Moebius ), H.R Giger . The film would star Orson Welles , Mick Jagger, Salvador Dali, Gloria Swanson, and David Carradine to name a few. The music of the film would be made by Pink Floyd ,Henry Cow and Magma.

The script was the size of a phone book and would result in a 14 hour movie.

Dali would charge $100,000 per hour .

But the film was never made.

The project was later given to David Lynch who didn’t make a good rendition of the film.

X would later inspire countless Sci Fi films such as Star Wars ,Blade Runner, Terminator, Robocop, Matrix , Alien , Predator , Species ,Prometheus ,Masters of the Universe, Flash Gordon etc.
