    granted recognition 2y the Ministry of Ed$cation6 $lt$re and Sports.

      In 9,=6 NE held its first commencement e&ercises and conferred the

    degrees of 5achelor of Science 0maor in !sychology16 5S Ind$strial Ed$cation6

    and 5S 5$siness Administration on twelve grad$ates.

     

    )he Brad$ate School was esta2lished d$ring the school year 9,=/-9,=;

    offering the co$rse Master of Arts in ollege )eaching. )he programme on

    5achelor of Elementary Ed$cation and 5achelor of Secondary Ed$cation also

    started this year.

    In 9,=;6 NE opened its !re-school and Elementary #epartment.

      %n May 9+6 9,=C6 the new and permanent camp$s of New Era ollege

    along St. (oseph Street6 Milton Hills6 New Era6 ?$e3on ity was ina$g$rated. In

    view of the then peace and order sit$ation s$rro$nding the vicinity of the Manila

    amp$s6 the High School #epartment and Non->ormal Ed$cation $nit

    transferred to the new camp$s in New Era6 ?$e3on ity. )his 2ro$ght together all

    the departments of the college $nder the roof of the new fo$r-storey 2$ilding.

      After another accreditation visit6 the !re-school6 Elementary and High

    School #epartments were given *evel recognition.

      )he peacef$lness6 orderliness6 2rotherly love and reverence for the words

    of Bod that govern the day to day order of things in the school inspire the

    development and ma&imi3ation of the st$dentsD potentials in different fields. )he

    Elementary #epartment and the High School #epartment have garnered la$rels

    in creative and o$rnalistic writing competitions in 4$i3 2ees6 in the performing

    arts6 and even in sports. A most nota2le achievement was when an NEU schoolgrader won in the United Nations !op$lation >$nd International !oster Making

    ompetition held in New ork6 U.S.A.

     

    )he ollege #epartment has also prod$ced its own 2reed of achievers. )he NEU

    varsity teams have contri2$ted players to the !hilippinesD national volley2all and

    2asket2all teams6 as well as to the !hilippine Amate$r 5asket2all *eag$e. NEU

    engineering grad$ates have placed in the top ten list of engineering 2oard

    e&aminations. NEU made news in the national scene when one of its grad$ates

    garnered the n$m2er one post in the 9,, !rofessional 5oard E&amination for

    there will 2e always a part of them inside of the person I am now.

    !atients ta$ght me things that I will never learn in other fields.

    )heir stories will always leave a mark inside of my personality7

    their e&periences will always 2e my g$ide.

    )he first time we went for the orientation to the Estrellas Ne&

    are6 for o$r clinical setting on the o2 training6 I tho$ght it was

    terri2le I $dged the facility 4$ickly as we entered and it is

    2eca$se of the smell and the little spacio$s place of the clinic.

    Ne&t6 are the n$rses who canDt even afford to give $s a warm

    welcome6 they donDt even smile. I know it has nothing to do with

    o$r trainings6 2$t I donDt think poker faces from the admin wo$ldnDt

    give $s any happy spirit inside. I felt scared 2y that time7 it is my

    second time aro$nd to 2e s$rro$nded 2y patients with severe

    mental disorders6 first was o$r field trip.

    I felt like I donDt want to 2e here. E&cept when we were one

    2y one introd$ced to the patients6 and everything has changed.

    )hese patients as I talk to myself are also h$man6 they can feel6

    well feels to the e&treme and they give empathy too. )hey were

    all smiling to $s6 waving and greeting $s. I felt the warm welcome

    of the patients6 and my point of view has changed.

     As we were introd$ced to the patients6 we were also oriented

    to the vision6 mission and core val$es of the ne&care6 that day

    was also the day when one patient approached me and told me

    that he likes me to 2e his friend. He was )atay (oel. I gave him a

    warm introd$ction of myself as he came $p to me6 he did the

    same too. It has 2een a long day for the 2oth of $s6 as we shared

    o$r stories of o$r lives to each other. He told me a2o$t his

    2ackgro$nd6 how did he get here to the ne&care6 who are his

    friends6 what are his ho22ies or pass time6 he even opened $p tome his family.

    et6 of co$rse6 2efore all the ac4$aintances happen6 I cons$lted

    first to the n$rses a2o$t )atay (oel and to the other patientDs

    2ackgro$nd. )atay (oel was one of the patients who have a

    severe schi3ophrenia disorder. %ne n$rse told me that )atay (oel

    tried to kill himself with a g$n on his head6 2$t l$ckily the 2$llet

    missed and )atay (oel lives. )ho$gh tatay oel still have the

    disorder. I donDt know the f$rther setting of his 2ackgro$nd6 what I

    know a2o$t him6 is that he is nice g$y6 well6 to me. Even tho$gh6

    his stories were kinda really o$t of reality6 like he once told me

    that he once fo$ght to (es$s hrist and *$cifer and he won. Etc.6

    I tried to look that I 2elieve him6 2$t act$ally I was really trying

    hard not to la$gh a2o$t it. Anyway6 we had lot of good times

    together6 we played chess and we were even partner for !inoy

    Henyo.

    I forgot to mention6 that o$r gro$p6 for the training were

    assigned to gro$p dynamics. 'e were the responsi2le for the

    daily activity for the patients. 'e present games and give reward

    to the winner. %$r games incl$de Stop #ance6 !inoy Henyo6

    catch the 2alloon and alamansi "elay.

    Mrs. Marcia Santos Estrellas6 one of the owners of Estrellas Ne&

    are was o$r g$ide all thro$gh o$r d$ty inside her psychiatric

    ward. She e&plained well the r$les inside. She shared some

    stories regards to the some patientDs case. She also help $s to

    managed o$r program for o$r Sociali3ation #ay.

    'e gave them 2isc$its for the reward and they love it.

    Hansel6 >ita6 2read pan6 and so m$ch more. Everyone were

    enoying every time o$r gro$p started to associate with the

    patients.

    'hat I like a2o$t EstrellasD patients is that they are willing

    and they are cooperative to the gro$p dynamics. !atients inside

    like to interact. )hey will try to reach o$t for yo$. 'e spent half of

    the month with the clients with o$r gro$p dynamics and everything

    seemed alright 2y the end of May. )he relationship to the clients

    even grows deeper.

    Sociali3ation day6 May /+7 2efore this day come6 we and my

    gro$p are assigned to different area6 the foods6 the 2everages6

    the games and the decoration.

    I was tasked 2y Mrs. Marcia to s$pervise the decoration part.

    I 2o$ght the materials a week ago that will 2e $sed for the

    sociali3ation day. I 2o$ght (apanese paper6 colorf$l papers like art

    some glitters. 'e came 2y in the afternoon in the clinic to set $p

    things. I have provided already the 2andiritas that were going to

    $se6 I made it a week 2efore. Angel6 Ano6 Emman6 "i33a and

    (o2el and I got to create more designs in the afternoon. )hen

    Blocelle and the rest decoration gro$p came6 and then we all

    started to decorate the area.

    'e created some logos that were going to $se for the

    greetings6 we created also some 2anner for the clinicDs name6 and

    also the school name. 'e folded some (apanese paper for the

    design too. 5y ; in the afternoon6 the food and 2everages arrived.

    >or the food6 we prepared Ado2o and Spaghetti. >or the drinks6

    we prepared 5lack B$laman. It was delicio$s.

    )he games gro$p also arrived 2y that time6 2$t there was

    one pro2lem. )here were no pri3es. )here were no rewards for

    the games6 someone forgot to provide and 2$y it. So me and

     Angel6 since we were finished to decorate6 we 4$ickly went to the

    nearest grocery store6 Savemore.

    'e 4$ickly 2o$ght some >ita6 2read stick6 2read fan6 Hansel

    and some !otchi. All these were gonna 2e $sed as the rewards

    for the game later. 'e went 2ack to the clinic and walked fast as

    we co$ld. 'e also tho$ght that it was gonna rain6 so we decided6

    that since we were going to cele2rate the event o$tside6 we

    moved inside to cele2rate Sociali3ation instead.

     As we reach o$r destination to the Estrellas6 the foods were

    not still arranged to the ta2le. And it was driving me n$ts that time6

    co3 it is passed ; and everything were still $nsettled. )ho$gh6 I

    was glad that the rented Videoke had arrived already. So the

    patients were all taking their time singing and dancing.

    I and some gro$p prepared the food inside. )hanked Bod

    2eca$se some staff from the kitchen helped $s to segregate the

    foods for the patients and for the staff. Now6 everything was

    esta2lished.

    'e started the event 2y < oDclock. 'e started 2y o$r games

    o$tside. It kinda s$cks 2eca$se it didnDt rain after all. %$r first

    game was !alayok. !atients are 2lindfolded and asked to hit the

    !alayok. Everyone was enoying. )he ne&t game was the catch

    the egg6 ne&t was Sa2itan6 and ne&t was talong race.

     As the patients were enoying their dawn to the videoke6 we

    were a2o$t to serve their dinner6 spaghetti and ado2o and a c$p

    of rice pl$s their medicines. 'e6 o$r gro$p mates didnDt had time

    to eat6 so we all $st sang a song and enoy while patients were

    eating.

    Seeing that they were all finished for their dinner6 we sang a

    little good2ye song to them. Everything was appreciated here6

    and I was glad it was all over. My clinical on-the-o2-training was

    done.

    My clinical ot were costly6 literally e&pensive. Since we were

    the one who will provide rewards with o$r own money6 2$t it

    doesnDt matter6 I know we will 2e remem2ered.

    )hanked Bod I was finally over dealing with the n$rses

    inside the clinic6 2$t Im going to miss the patients inside. )hey

    gave me so many val$es in life. )heir stories will always give

    impact to me. )hey made me reali3ed that I was 2lessed. I will

    always 2e forever thankf$l to my life.

    2riefing e&cite me a lot 2eca$se they told $s that we can receive

    allowance from the esta2lishment and we have also free meal6

    which is6 2ig advantage to $s to work hard 2eca$se almost

    company donDt have that. After the 2riefing they told $s to

    report immediately on the date given to $s6 and then I was

    to$red aro$nd the 2$ilding so that we will know where to

    log in and log o$t. After that I was immediately assign to o$r 

    first department which is #istrict Sale. #$ring that day as a

    assistant I was really nervo$s 2eca$se I donDt know what to do6

    2$t when the secretary of the manager arrived my fears were

    gone. And after that day I really have a high respect for all the

    secretary in the world 2eca$se their task is not easy $st for $s to

    2e comforta2le.

    %n that day I really want to cry 2eca$se itDs very hard

    to do all those task6 2$t I did my 2est 2eca$se I know I can

    do it and I can finish it. After one week I was transferred in the

    and sometimes when I have pro2lem I cry easily6 in short I

    am emotional. And I am f$lly aware that I am not perfect and

    I can say that my relationship 2etween the staff in the hotel
