1989 Foundation of VETTER Engineeringby engineer and designer Otto Vetter

1993 Small conveyors with internal motorOtto Vetter is awarded silver medals for his first “motorless” conveyor at the “International Trade Fair – Ideas, Inventions, New Products” in Nurem-berg and at the “Inventions Exhibition” in Geneva one year later.

2011 Vetter small conveyors under new managementOtto Vetter retires. Dirk Steinmann takes over the business and founds “Vetter Kleinförderbänder GmbH” in October 2011.

2012 Move to larger premisesIn the first half of 2012, the company hires additional staff and moves to larger premises in Beimerstetten. Further offices abroad are established.

2015 • All Vetter small conveyors feature state-of-the-art drive technology: The entire product range is converted to Faulhaber brushless gear motors with integrated control electronics. This is complemented by two units for reference values from Vetter.

Allyouneedisa24VDCpowersupplyifyouwanttooperateyour Vetter small conveyor in the most simple way. The input for the direction of rotation is connected to 24 V DC or 0 V DC (GND)which determines the conveying direction.The ana-logueinputisconnectedto0VDC(GND)andtheconveyorstarts with the factory programmed speed, see .

Referencespeedviaanaloguesignal(0–10VDC)

If you want to operate with different speeds, simply provide a corresponding signal via the analogue input: in the range from 0.5 to 0.9 V DC, the conveyor is at a standstill, see .The full speed range of the motor is available from 1 to 10 V DC, see .From 10 to 11 V DC, you get approximately 110 % of the specified nominal velocity.

InthecaseofVettersmallconveyorstypesFR-20-20-MandFR-20-40, the reference value units are integrated in thehousing; thereferencevaluescanbeeasilysetvia the+/-keys. It is also possible to use an external analogue signal from 0 – 10 V DC.

You determine the cycle:The small conveyor can also operate cyclically via the ana-logue signal. If you use programmed acceleration and de-celeration ramps, this is easy on the mechanical system and helps to ensure a long service life of our products.Due to the brushless technology, high acceleration or de-celeration currents do not cause wear of the motors.

You determine where things move:The speed controllers integrated in the motor feature an input for the direction of rotation. This way, you can easily change the conveying direction.

You know where things stand:The signal output provides 6 pulses per motor revolution which can be processed by your controller. This lets you im-plement positioning tasks without additional encoders. We would be happy to support you in calculating the resolution.
