preceptors. • Continuity is not essential in precepting.

• Supervise 1 to 3 residents a year

• One hour per week of face-to-face individual supervision

• Read and cosign all notes weekly

• Be available for consultation between supervision sessions

• Assist with involuntary hospitalizations, cosigning of CT social security and disability forms

•Discuss clinical issues, labs, diagnostic images •Assist in, and provide direction for all aspects of patient care•Encourage CHC’s goal of providing fully integrated care•Supervise and assist with procedures when applicable (only procedures the preceptor is comfortable with themselves)•Review notes and create addendums to notes

•Encourage other providers to inform residents when good teaching opportunities arise (physical findings/procedures, etc.)•Be dedicated to teaching and supporting the residents during your assigned precepted sessions•Be present and fully available to the residents until the last scheduled patient is seen

•Employ teaching strategies during the sessions•Encourage critical analysis and evidence-based reasoning in the ordering of tests and laboratory studies•Assist residents in patient care/visits, in the case that a resident falls behind in the schedule or needs assistance
