Biomedical Research Support Grants -- The next dead I ine for Biomedical Research Support Grants CBRSG) is Apri I 8. These grants, in amounts up to $2,500, are to encourage the most effective ~nd rapid evolution of health-related research and research training capabi I ities. Preference is given to persons who are in the early stages of development as research scientists. Faculty in the Schools of Dentistry, Medicine and Nursing are not eligible. New Zealand or South West Pacific Research -- The New Zealand Government has established the Captain James Cook Research Fellowship to perpetuate the spirit of scientific inquiry and exploration. The Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's> Office of Water Supply, Criteria and Standards Division is seeking the services of senior toxicologist and/or medical scientist to rovide technical consultation on toxic substances which may be found in drinking water. This person wi I I be the primary in-house exper on toxicology or medical science and wi I I have major input in the development of the Revised National Primary Drinking Water Regulations which are mandatory for pub I ication in 1977. He wi I I occupy a central position in the development of the national pol icy for control of contaminants in drinking water. This person also wi I I have access to funds for initiation of research investigations in areas of need which he wi I I identify.
