Introduction:This book is a small collection of prayers thathave helped people under spiritual attack forcenturies. If you are working with us as clients,we may suggest certain prayers just for youand your situation. But some prayers are VIPs(Very Important Prayers). We suggest that youuse the VIPs daily (or more often if needed)to help calm and settle your situation. If a particular prayer isnt a comfort to you, justpass it on and use one that works better for you. This is all about your connection with God. Thatis always personal, special, and different foreveryone.

Weve sourced these prayers as best we can. Some of them are from old enough sourcesthat we really dont know who wrote them, but they are a part of the Christian tradition. Some of the numbered bible verses may beslightly different in different translations.Use the Bible you are comfortable with.

    Prayers for Protection

Anyone who has ever been under demonicattack knows that connection to Godis our only defense. A huge part of

our connection to God is how we pray. Butthe oldest question is, How do we pray?

There are the prayers of the heart, the prayers of the spirit and the prayers that we learn by rote.

The prayers of the heart are our outpouring of how we feel. They are a gift we can give to God.God always honors those. We can trust God with

everything, our love, our pain, our anger, ourhopes and our dreams. Just tell Him how you feel.

The prayers of the Spirit are a gift God gives to us.We are told when words fail us that Gods Spiritprays for us without words. We can trust the HolySpirit to pray for us when were past words.

The prayers we learn by rote are tools to helpshape our thoughts, feelings and ideas. Theyhonor God if nothing else as an affirmation of where we want to go with God.

All prayer is good. Any way we talk toGod, pulls us closer to His presence.

Memorized prayers arent always ineveryones religious experience. Some people feel they are less

meaningful. But weve found them very helpfulfor several reasons.

We can cling to them in times of stress, fear, panic, loss and dread. They calm us. A prayer

memorized helps us to focus on God instead of the dreadful and terrifying things that may begoing on around us.

They cover the basis of things we need toremember to say. God takes us as we are. The devil

is much more legalistic, and will follow exactlywhat we say in Christs name. So we want to getwhat we say right. Wording really counts and itswise to have prayers memorized that you knowwill help.

Some of the prayers in here are in Latin. We dontknow why, but it seems theyre particularlyeffective against demonic attack. It may be somethings just dont translate well. Dont be afraidof Latin. Its an old language, but the things wefight against are old, and they fear it. If you arenervous about pronounciation, stick with thelanguage you know. Your faith is what counts.

Memorized prayer can change how we feel aboutthings. The things we say help create the way wefeel.2

It may or may not change Gods mind. But itdoes for a certainty change ours. It helps us thinkin different ways. It helps us grow in the imageof Christ.

Prayers to saints or angelsWe do not suggest prayers to any other createdbeing. But we know that there are holy beings

that are in the presence of God. We are told in theBook of Revelations, that angels and saints praybefore the throne of God. They see God face toface. In the same way you might ask us to pray foryou, you can ask them.

Prayers of SaintsThese people fought the same battles, had thesame fears and pains we have. We can learn abouttheir relationship with God through the prayerstheyve used.

Prayers to MaryBefore Jesus died, he turned to John and toldHim that Mary was his mother now. In thatmoment, she became our mother, too. (See John19:26-27) In their lives, He never refused anythingshe asked of him, even if he thought it was silly, like the wine at the wedding at Cana. So when wepray the Hail Mary, were asking for her to prayfor us. Its His mom. He listens. Besides, demonsreally fear Mary. When we ask Mary to be with us,demons leave.

Surely, it is God who saves me;I will trust in him and not be afraid. For the Lord is my stronghold and mySure defense,

And He will be my Savior.

    Therefore you shall draw water with rejoicingFrom the springs of salvation.And on that day you shall say,Give thanks to the Lord and call upon his Name;Make his deeds known among the peoples;

See that they remember thatHis Name is exalted.Sing praises of the Lord,For he has done great things,And this is known in all the world.

    Prayer of St. Francis

Lord, make mean instrument of your peace.Where there is hatred, let me sow love;Where there is injury, pardon;Where there is doubt, faith;Where there is despair, hope;Where there is darkness, light; And where there is sadness, joy.

    O Divine Master,Grant that I may not so much seekTo be consoled as to console;To be understood as to understand;

To be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; It is in pardoning that we are pardoned; And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.Amen

Unown, appeared in France during WW 1Why? St. Francis spent his life showing us how toshow Gods love to unlovable people. When we lovepeople with Gods love it spills back into our own lives.Although Francis didnt write this prayer, he could have.

    Constant Prayers

The Bible tells us to pray constantly. Thatshard. How do we focus where we are, andstill continue to pray at all times?

There are several ways to do that. One is topractice the presence of Christ.

A kitchen monk named Brother Lawrencerealized that everything he did as he peeledpotatoes and cut up onions was in front of thepresence of Christ. Whatever he did, he gave to Jesus, who was always with him. He called thatpractising the constant pres ence of God

Mother Teresa of Calcutta said that no smallthing we give to God is small because when wegive it to Him it becomes infinite.

St. Therese of Lisieux said that what matters isnot great deeds but great love.

Saints are people who have learned to livecloser with God. We can learn a lot from theirlives, struggles and thoughts.

If we practice the presence and awareness of Christ moment to moment, we pull ourselvescloser and closer to God.

    Breath Prayers

One way to pray constantly is to pray inand out as we breathe. We take a shortprayer, say half of it as we breathe in,

half as we breathe out. Here are some wonderfulbreath prayers.

W hy do we confess our sins? Sindraws us away from God.Are we sinners? Well, yes. We are.We all fall short of the Glory of God. (Ro-mans 3: 23) But Jesus loves us, died for us, andforgives everything we confess to Him.

How do we know something is wrong? Here aresome questions we can ask ourselves that makeit clear if weve done or not done something thatdraws us away from God and His love.

Does it hurt/embarrass/ humiliate someone?Does it hurt/embarrass/ humiliate us?Does it leave us ashamed? Is it against scripture?

Is it illegal?Does it break one of the 10 commandments?Would your church be concerned about it?Is it something you need to keep secret?Does it take things away from rightful owners?Does it leave you or someone else feeling

jealous, left out, angry or spiteful?

Not everything on this list is necessarily a sin.But it points to something within us that ispainful, off, or wrong. Its always right to ask Jesus to help us with these things.

Anything we confess to God is utterly forgiven, and forgotten. The Bible says God puts our sinsas far as east is from west from us. It is as if wenever had done them. Once weve confessed,we are to forgive ourselves and forget our ownsins as God as forgiven and forgotten.

You may want to make your confession to apriest or to a minister, but thats not essential. You can also make your confession to anyother Christian, or simply to God Himself. If you have a church that practices confession, follow their guidelines.Ask for their help.

Many people who are under demonic attackfind it a good idea to say an act of contrition as

part of our evening prayers. If we go to bedwith our sins confessed, our sins, the onlythings that can separate us from God, are gone. Were safely in Gods hands.

God forgives us. In turn, He asks us to forgive

others and pray for them. We dont have to likethem. But in obedience, we pray forgiveness forthem when we ask for it for ourselves. It releases us.
