PRAYER FOR MOTHERS
Heavenly Father,
from the beginning you have chosen to entrust
the human person to mothers in a special way.
We thank and praise you for the gift of mothers;
for their tenderness, care, and compassion,
for their intuition and encouragement,
for commitment and sacrifice.
Bless all mothers this day.
Keep, strengthen, and refresh them
in your loving care.
May they be blessed by our open-hearted
love and gratitude.
Amen.

What is $crip?
Why is it a program we need to support? $crip is a
program of “gift certificates” that anyone can pur-
chase and use at local merchants. You can buy your
groceries at Hy-Vee or gas at Kwik Trip with these
certificates and 3% of what you spend is donated by
the merchants to your Church, your tuition bill or the
Rochester Catholic Schools. How do I help, you ask?
Register with the program and then purchase $crip at
the Rochester Catholic Schools office. You can even
order on line and pick them up at the parish office or
at the Rochester Catholic Schools office. Just Call
Teresa Goodrich @ 280-0349 or go to the Rochester
Catholic Schools web page to enroll in the program.

Calvary Cemetery
CALVARY CEMETERY OF ROCHESTER
Calvary Cemetery provides beautiful, serene
surroundings for peaceful prayer and meditation.
Why choose a Catholic cemetery for yourself and
loved ones? A Catholic cemetery offers a blessed, final
resting place where generations of survivors can visit,
locate, remember and honor the deceased. It is a per-
manent place that records the legacy of those who
have gone before. Calvary Cemetery offers varied
burial options including inground, crypt and
columbarium. For daily operations, the cemetery relies
on business transactions, financial support of benefac-
tors and the kind generosity of Rochester Catholic pa-
rishioners. In memory of loved ones, support of Calva-
ry Cemetery and recognition of Memorial Day, a
second collection will be conducted at all parishes May
18,19, 2019. On that same week-end, look for
cemetery updates in your church bulletin insert:

Happy Mother’s Day
I am still in love with the only woman I really ever loved in my life. My Mother! Even though she is now with
the old man and God in heaven, I still gaze at her photos I have around the apartment and marvel about how
much she loved me, sacrificed for me, and brought me up right – even though there were times when I was a
teenager, she well understood why some animals eat their young! God bless all mom’s today and know of our
love for you. The old saying goes: “God couldn’t be everywhere, so he created Mothers. Happy Mother’s Day.
Catholic Charities Collection Today
And on Mother’s Day, we traditionally take up our Collection for Catholic Charities. In 2018, Catholic Charities
served over 7,900 persons in over 3,700 households, 64% of which had an annual income at or below
$25,000. The truth is what we accomplish is what you accomplish through Catholic Charities. Your support of
this year’s Catholic Charities Annual Appeal on Mother’s Day weekend will make all the difference.
With offices in Worthington, Mankato, Owatonna, Albert Lea, Austin, Rochester, and Winona, every county in
the diocese is home to someone who was helped by catholic Charities.. With your help, catholic Charities can con-
tinue to build on this important, needed ministry for the less fortunate. You will find a Catholic Charities Appeal
envelope in your envelope packets and this still remains the most effective way to promote Participation. So if
you did not notice that envelope this weekend, please know that your contributions will be accepted past the
Mother’s Day weekend.
Pope Benedict XVI states in Deus Caritas Est: The church’s deepest nature is expressed in her three-fold
responsibility of proclaiming God’s Word, celebrating the sacraments, and exercising the ministry of Chari-
ty. These duties presuppose each other and are inseparable. For the Church, charity is not a kind of welfare activ-
ity which could equally well be left to others, but is part of her nature, an indispensable expression of her very
being. Thank you and God bless!
