PRAYER FOCUS - APRIL 8, 2018 To activate the Prayer Chain, call Ruth Wiebe: 306-931-2982 1. Missionaries: Pray for Ken and Bertha Guenther, serving with SEND International in Ukraine. "How are our new missionaries really doing? Over the past 8 years, we have been very involved in training new missionaries before they leave for the field. Several weeks of each year are devoted to preparing for this training, and then leading the two weeks of SEND's Member Orientation Program. The evaluations that we have received immediately after the training was completed have been overwhelmingly positive. But the real 'proof of the pudding is in the eating', as the saying goes. Our primary goal is not that a missionary trainee will tell us that their pre-field training was a great learning experience. Much more important to us is to see evidence that these new missionaries are thriving after they arrive on the field. Over the past few months, we have visited several new missionaries that have gone through the training we provide. We are thankful that although cross-cultural adjustment is never easy, they are truly thriving and learning to depend on God in the tough times. Pray with us about: Ken's visit to Taiwan. Pray for the training he will lead and the many conversations with new missionaries; The difficult process of moving the SEND U wiki to the new site and platform; Identifying the right replacements for Ken in his leadership roles when we go on sabbatical this fall; The salvation of Muslim students through our international student ministry; The health concerns of our parents back in Canada.
