Psalm 148:1-1412 Both young men and maidens;Old men and children.13 Let them praise the name of the LORD,For His name alone is exalted;His glory is above the earth and heaven.

Psalm 148:1-1414 And He has exalted the horn of His people,The praise of all His saints—Of the children of Israel,A people near to Him.Praise the LORD!

Why Praise the LORD?• Because of who He is• LORD here is YAHWEH

What YAHWEY Means• It is built on the same words as “I AM”• No beginning• No end• Absolute Reality• Utterly Independent• All else is utterly dependent on Him

What YAHWEY Means• It is built on the same words as “I AM”• Anything compared to Him is nothing• He is constant• He is the absolute standard of truth• He is sovereign – does as He pleases• Most important reality in universe

Why Praise the LORD?• Because of who He is• LORD here is YAHWEH

What YAHWEY Means• Jesus gave 7 “I AM” statements:• Bread of life (John 6:35)• Light of the world (John 8:12)• The door (John 10:7)• The good shepherd (John 10:11)

What YAHWEY Means• Jesus gave 7 “I AM” statements:• The resurrection and life (John

11:25)• The way (John 14:6)• The vine (John 15:1)

Why Praise the LORD?• Because of who He is• LORD here is YAHWEH

• Because of how He is• He is good! (Ps. 106:1; 107:1;

118:1,29; 136:1)

Psalm 106:1Praise the Lord! Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.

Psalm 48:1Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised In the city of our God, In His holy mountain.

Why Praise the LORD?• Because of who He is• Because of how He is• Because of what He has done

Psalm 98:1Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! For He has done marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory.
