Oklahoma Dam Hazard Classification
Prairie Engineers provided dam hazard classification reviews and recommendations for hazard classifications to the Oklahoma NRCS for 342 dams statewide. This effort included remote evaluations using government provided and publicly available information and collection of additional field information and supplemental analysis, including dam breach modeling to develop updated breach inundation maps.
USACE Hydrographic Surveys
Prairie Engineers is providing Field and Automated Hydrographic Surveys for the St. Louis District US Army Corps of Engineers as a prime consultant under an indefinite delivery contract. Work has included dredge surveys, river & harbor clearance surveys, underwater hazard detection & marine structure surveys. Also included in the contract are high-accuracy dam deformation monitoring surveys.
Camp Lincoln Parking Lots
Prairie Engineers provided planning, design, and construction engineering services for five parking lots at the joint forces headquarters of the Illinois National Guard at Camp Lincoln. Work adhered to Unified Facilities Criteria, including anti-terrorism and force protection (ATFP) standards and was performed for both military vehicle parking and for privately owned vehicle parking under Indefinite Delivery Order Contracts.

FEDERAL PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Tree Planting and Forestry IDIQPrairie Engineers holds a prime contract for various environmental restoration activities for the St. Louis District USACE. Work is performed for the Rivers Project in areas along the Mississippi and Illinois Rivers and tributaries. Work includes reforestation, prairie restoration, invasive species control, forest inventories, boundary surveys, and maintenance of boundary lines in Illinois and Missouri.
Camp Butler National CemeteryPrairie Engineers provided construction engineering services for the installation of new columbariums at Camp Butler National Cemetery near Springfield, Illinois. The work included daily observation, documentation of construction, review of pay requests, review of change orders and maintenance of a respectful construction site honoring the nearby final resting places of our country’s veterans.
Ipava Drop Zone DrainagePrairie Engineers was awarded a sole-source project by the Illinois Air National Guard, 182nd Civil Engineering Squadron to design a way to restore access to the Ipava Drop Zone site in Fulton County, Illinois following the failure of several roadway culverts and low water crossings. Work included performing a drainage study, completing an alternatives assessment for the most cost-effective and expedient means of re-establishing access, and the development of plans, specifications, and estimate for a new bridge crossing and drainage channel improvements.
Emergency Structural RepairsPrairie Engineers employees provided emergency structural repairs of a 16,000 s.f. armory building in Litchfield, Illinois. Work included removing the walls, windows, and a steel beam; rebuilding the masonry wall and reinstalling existing windows; and coordination and relocation of all mechanical/electrical equipment related to modifications to building envelope.
Bridge InspectionsPrairie Engineers has two bridge inspectors certified through the US Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration National Bridge Inspection Standards Program. We currently provide bridge inspections for State and Local government clients, including for federally funded bridges.
Prairie Engineers employees provided mechanical upgrades to existing system at a 25,762 s.f., one-story armory building. Upgrades included: HVAC system with associated electrical upgrades; replace controls, exhaust systems, and dampers; boilers; new exhaust hood and make up air unit for existing kitchen range and other interior renovations.
