– are increasingly being used for screening job applicants.

 

KIOSK SYSTEM

  Kiosk System facilitates employees with the Employee Self Services and other information. Kiosk system has been categorized into Information Kiosk and Utility Kiosk.

 

Information Kiosk – Contains generalized kind of Information which can be viewed by anyone (i.e. Public Information Services).

Utility Kiosk – Offers Employee Self services (i.e. Personalized Services).

TECHNOLOGY USEDEditor : Macromedia Dreamweaver 8

A professional HTML editor for designing, coding and developing websites, web pages and web applications.

Used to build dynamic database-backed web applications using server technologies such as CFML, ASP.NET, ASP, JSP and PHP.

 The design edition features of Dreamweaver 8 allow you to quickly add objects and functionality to your pages, without having to program the HTML code manually.

TECHNOLOGY : MICROSOFT ACTIVE SERVER PAGES (ASP) 2.0

It is a Microsoft Technology.

It is a program that runs inside IIS (Internet Information Services)

It is a Server-Side Scripting environment that we can use to create interactive Web pages and build powerful Web applications. When the server receives a request for an ASP file, it processes server-side scripts contained in the file to build the Web page that is sent to the browser.

DATABASE : MICROSOFT SQL SERVER 2005• Code Name – “Yukon”• It is a Relational database management system.• Later ported to Windows NT systems by Microsoft.

 

WEB SERVER : INTERNET INFORMATION SERVER (IIS) 5.1

• Set of internet-based services for server created by Microsoft for use with Microsoft Windows only.

• IIS includes ASP, a server side scripting standard that can be used to create dynamic and interactive web applications.

• USE : To publish information on the internet or the intranet.

• It is not installed by default, but added using the Add/Remove Programs.

Basically there are five types of complaint according to the given requirement :

•  Electrical• Carpentry• Mason• Sanitary• Water & Plumbing

So, Balco employees can login their account using Personal Number (Primary Key) and Password. Register their complaints an hence can view the status of their respective complaints.

APPLICATIONS• Kiosk-Employee Portal is currently being used in

BALCO (Bharat Aluminium Company Limited) plant for maintaining complete information about Employee.

 • Future : In future it well be ported to SAP Platform.

 • Application of Kiosk System is not limited to Balco

Plant only. Its Framework can also be used in other industries for maintaining employees details.
