JOHNY RYANRyan started working for VICE doing little comics from week to week until he was given the full back page of every issue. He continues to do that along with his own series of comics and graphic novels. I shouldn’t have to explain why I like his work. It’s just a better version of mine and let me see where I could end up If I can develop my practice to above what it’s perceived as.

JOHNYS most famous work is prison pit which is now being made into an animated series. I’ve already bought the first DVD and its amazing. It’s a pity I hate animating because I think my work fits very well into that disipline. Many collaborations a foot.

ADBUSTERS is something I was told to look at because it’s almost a more developed version of my voice. It’s less chaotic but it still has the message. It’s where I need to take my work. Not as much is aesthetic but in intelligent approach to subjects which I already have but it needs to be more refined.

JACK TEAGLEIs someone I’m always keeping tabs on, everything he does is awesome. It’s much cleaner than anything I produce but it’s twice as crazy and it’s an inspiration to see how much work he puts how there and how even though he switchs media a lot it all holds true to itself

Jack made me really want to get into 3D work, figures like this are great. I’m not where near this level but I’d like to get tere one day. Just need to keep finding better ways to do it.

HOODBATSWas a brand started by a guy called mark. It’s the same style as me almost. Light line weight with weird monsters and dark imagery. Mark did social media very wel however and Hoodbats exploded over night. Now with an online shop and over 10,000 follows on facebook and instagram he’s doing quite well. Basically I want to be doing this well. I want people to buy my things. Which means I need to get better with social media ASAP

BILL CONNORSA screenprinter with a very interesting way of working and very inspiring style. It’s not just my amazing compositions I want to learn from but how he uses text. Text is one of the most important part of my practice, almost more important than the actual drawing, almost. So Bill is a huge influence on my and where I want to take my work.

FELIX COLGRAVEAnimator superior. Been my favourite animator for awhile now, his imagination is limitless and the way he uses movement is amazing. I’ve spoke to Felix a few time, he’s a really good guy and really takes time to talk to people and answer questions. 10/10. I have no interest in animating myself but just looking at the flow and movement he uses In characters and narrative is helping me leaps in my own character work.

GUSTAVEAlways important to look back, these etching will never not amaze me. An even though my work is not where near this in anyway. It’s the stories and just narrative in each piece that inspires me. Monsters and demons; knights and angels. It’s all great story telling and better illustration. I’ll never get tired of looking into that world.
