These studies and illustrations on FRONT VERANDAS and FRONT DIRECTIONS IN DWELLINGS started with a master degree thesis in architecture 1968, at a meeting point between front yard dwellings and back yard dwellings in Bagamoyo, at the Indian Ocean coast of Tanzania.
After other engagements in Swedish architecture and building conditions the following illustrations on front direction in dwellings are adapted to Swedish climate and conditions.

AUTHOR
Even if only one person, the author below, has produced and compiled the
perspectives, photos and texts for this website presentation, it would not have been
possible without earlier research experience from National Housing and Building
Research Agency ( then Building Research Unit in Tanzania) and inspirational
discussions with other colleagues in the field of architecture, sociology, building
engineering, landscape architecture and English linguistics. Thank you for your
patience and encouraging support, Agnes Mwaiselage, Michael Mpuya, late G.M.
Kawiche, Karri Rastas, Peter Törnqvist, Carl Blomqvist and Annabel Oldfield and thank
you Peter Enbom on webdezign, for the final transfer of the documents to the web
domain.
