FUNCTIONFUNCTIONThe function of a noun is to be the subject or object of a sentence. Nouns are what the sentence is about. Without a noun, the sentence makes no sense. Often, nouns are among the first words babies learn,because they are concrete and say a lot. "Baby," "ball," "mommy" and "daddy" are all nouns and are many children's first words.
