Covenant signatories commit to adopting an integrated approach to climate change

mitigation and adaptation They are required to develop Sustainable Energy andmitigation and adaptation. They are required to develop Sustainable Energy and

Climate Action Plans with the aims of cutting CO2 emissions by at least 40% by 2030

and increasing resilience to climate change within the first two years of adhesion.

To define Energy and Climate Change policies the Province of Girona bundles the actions planned in Girona’s

Sustainable Energy Action Plans (SEAP). The actions must be realistic and feasible.

Province of Girona gives technical, economic and legal assistance to Girona’s Covenant of Mayors signatories

thanks to different European programs.
