Italy RFI Roma – Napoli 300km/h High Speed Line

Work on the new 204km HSL line between Roma and Napoli was very challenging. The customer selected 100% overlapping of cells, a solution that increases mobility and required complete KCC involvement to tune and optimize the GSM-R radio layer for ERTMS application

Trains operate at speeds of up to 305km/h on the line which includes 53 tunnels and has been in commercial service with ETCS Level 2 since 2006 30 trains per day

97% of trains on time (less than 5’ delay)Overall distance run = 10 millions of km

France RFF SNCF East TGV 320km/h High Speed Line

A major challenge was the validation of the coverage for the new East HSL, 300km. KCC also prepared the right parameter settings for a unique experience: the world speed on rail record attempt. On April 2007, a TGV train reached 574.8km/h with GSM-R voice and data live connections

Thanks to this experience, KCC was able to develop new algorithms for high speed distortion removal in uplink and advanced train interval management. Both of these innovations increase the quality of services provided at high-speed
