PowerCut™ SeriesPLASMARC CUTTING EQUIPMENT
What is plasma cutting?Plasma is an ionized gas that is electrically conductive giving you the ability to cut most commercial metals available. The intense high temperature of the arc, which is 25,000 degrees C, (5 times hotter than the sun) gives you the ability to cut metals faster, cleaner and more economical over the traditional cutting methods.
The benefits of plasma cutting- Faster cutting speeds, superior cut quality and
better efficiency
- No preheating the work piece resulting in higher productivity and less heat distortion on thinner metals
- Maximum portability allowing you to travel from the shop to the job site with ease
- Gouging defective welds on mild steel to cutting aluminum or stainless steel, The PowerCut series gives you the versatility needed to tackle any job
Recommended cutting and gouging gases
Why use gases when compressed air is cheaper? The ESAB PowerCut series is designed to give you the maximum performance in the most economical way possible. That’s why Compressed air or Nitrogen are the only gasses recommended to use with these systems.
Plasma CuttingPlasma GougingThe ESAB PowerCut series makes gouging applications easy to accomplish with very little set-up involved. Adjusting the air pressure and changing to the appropriate nozzle, the PowerCut systems are ready to handle all your gouging needs. Plasma Gouging can be very useful when needing to:
- Remove weld defects
- Back gouging and weld preparation
- Removal of hard-facing
- General removal of metal for repairs
Plasma gouging vs. carbon arc gougingBy using ESAB PowerCut series for plasma gouging one can also replace operations such as air carbon-arc gouging, grinding chippers, etc. There are many places such capability can be used, but the removal of welds in repair work is the most obvious. When used in place of carbon-arc gouging, using the PowerCut systems for gouging gives better gouge quality, easier metal removal, better control, less fume and less noise.

The PowerCut plasma cutting package will take
whatever you throw at it, and ask for more. Designed
with ESAB Plasmarc technology, PowerCut machines
are more powerful and durable than any other
machine in their class. They also make plasma
cutting easier and more economical – delivering
reliability, high production, and a wide variety of
performance features. With design features that
simplify operation, reduce set-up time, and enhance
consumable life, PowerCut packages let you spend
less time troubleshooting and more time cutting.
Powerful. Durable. Simple.
PowerCut gives you:- Powerful performance – PowerCut offers the highest speeds and thickness capabilities in its price class, as well as high duty cycle ratings, for outstanding productivity and performance.
- Powerful economy – through a combination of long part life, high speeds, and simple torch design, the PowerCut series offers low cost per meter of cut of any machine in its price class.
- Powerful durability – these robust cutters stand up to rugged treatment and outdoor use, plus cut up to 38 mm metal with ease.
- Powerful ease of operation – with features such as the tool-less quick disconnect torch and a digital display, the PowerCut family is easy to set up and operate, increasing productivity and reducing downtime.
PowerCut features:- Rugged design – PowerCut external housing design is durable, damage-resistant, corrosion-resistant, and weather-resistant, while remaining lightweight for portability.
- Tool-less quick disconnect torch – disconnects from the machine without the use of wrenches or special tools. Now you can easily disconnect your PT-38 or PT-39 torch for storage, repairs, or replacement, or to attach a PT-37 mechanized torch for mechanized applications. Not available on PowerCut 400.
- Blowback technology – has no high-frequency that can disrupt CNC controls and nearby computer systems.
- Auto-modes (gouge, grate, and normal modes) – switch between modes automatically, tailoring your application without manually changing settings on the power source (900 and 1600 models only).
