First, let us talk about
protocols:
A PROTOCOL is the
official procedure or
system of rules
governing affairs of
state or diplomatic
occasions.
There are 5 common
Protocols applied
through the internet...
1. HTTP or Hyper Text
Transfer Protocol
= The Protocol used to
transfer documents
across the web.
2. HTTPS or Hyper Text
Transfer Protocol
Secure
= Uses the Secure
Sockets Layer (SSL) to
encrypt data.
3. FTP or File Transfer
Protocol
= allows downloading
and uploading of
files on the internet.
4. Telnet
= a protocol that lets
you log in to remote
computers.
5. IRC or Internet Relay
Chat
= allows the user to
communicate with
other people
through the Internet
in real time, whether
individually or in
groups.
