Power Copy Way of Work

This is a method how to create a pipe or an isolation for pipes with a Power Copy. Previously you have to put points in 3D space according with bend location of the pipe/isolation. Click on Open Catalog and open the catalog named Tevi_Izolatii (which means Pipes-Isolations in english) from its location. First put all the files from the zip archive in same folder. A new window will appear - duble click on “Tevi-izolatii definite prin puncte” (translation in English – Pipes-isolations defined through points) and choose the input type (if you have for example three bends – choose 3 inputs). First point is always the Axis System and last one is the end of the pipe. The type of the input its done by double clicking on the icon desired (action avalabale for any selection in Power Copy). In the new window choose the type of action (from top to bottom, English translation , example 4 inputs - pipe defined with 4 points, isolation type 963 defined with 4 points, isolation type 966 defined with 4 points …).

Next action is to select the points previously created (in CATIA workspace or from the tree). After the pipe creation, the diameter of the pipe or bending radius can be modified from Parameters (k parameter or l parameter).

In case of isolations R radius can be modified through l parameter and the splitting distance of the planes, can be modified through p1 and p2 values.To define the isolation type (963, 964 a.s.o.), double click the scketch of the rib, select any dimesion, click right button mouse and choose from contextual menu Constraint Definition

In new window, click on the icon representing Design Table and choose from the new window the necessary diameter (r column) – this one represents also the isolation type (exemple – 963 type is defined by r = 6.35).
