For plants
- POTASSIUM isnecessary to many plant functionssuch as:
a) carbohydratesmetabolism
b) enzyme activation
c) osmoticregulation
d) proteinsynthesis
- ESSENTIAL for PHOTOSYNTHESIS.
- for NITROGEN FIXATION OF LEGUMES.
- important in helping plants adapt in theirenvironment (e.g. better resistance to fungal diseases and insect pests)
