Welcome Back!
Welcome back to all of our Poston Road families. If
you are new to Poston Road, I hope you have found
that Poston Road Elementary is a warm and friendly
environment filled with excellent staff members,
families and students.
If you are visiting the building you will need to come to
the office and use our School Check-In system to sign
in and get a name tag.
If you want to eat lunch with your child or volunteer in
the classroom, you must have a completed background
check on file. In order to do that you will need to stop
by the office to fill out the form. New this year, we
will also need a copy of your driver license or state
issued ID. Background checks are only good for one
school year.
If your student is going to be
absent, please call Poston Road’s
Office at 342-8408, Ext. 0. Please
do not send a message via Class
DOJO to report an absence. Thank
you.
We will be using Class Dojo as
our school-wide behavior
management system again this
year. You can check it out at:
www.classdojo.com

Appropriate Clothing
We consider proper dress to mean: For girls: dresses, slacks, jeans or shorts. For boys:
slacks, jeans or shorts. We encourage students to look neat in their dress. The way we dress is
the way we act. Short shorts, halter-tops and net shirts are not permissible. Shoes should be
appropriate for safety and comfort. Please make sure that shirts and tops with (sayings) printed
on them are in good taste. No alcohol, drug, gang symbols, satanic symbols, inappropriate
language or pictures permitted. Any attire that disrupts the educational process such as
clothing that does not fit appropriately, underwear exposed, spaghetti straps, midriff showing
and hats in the building are not permitted. Hip hops or low riding pants are not appropriately.
Flip Flops: Due to several students’ injuries, our corporation has decided that flip flops will
NOT be allowed on the playground. If your child wears flip flops to school, they must have a
pair of tennis shoes to change into for recess. If they do not, your child will not be allowed
outside for recess that day. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
